Re: Project Orange to Green

I wish, the new house has put this project on hold for a while. Hopefully I'll get back on it soon!

Re: Project Orange to Green

Alright, here's a picture update. I haven't done anything to my truck so here's some pics of her current condition. I bought the pieces to finish the cab floor and a rear roll pan but none of it is installed. Hopefully I'll get back on it after I get this last bedroom finished in the new house.

And these are some of the parts I have been collecting to "possibly" use on the build.

Re: Project Orange to Green

Sheesh, had to dig this one out of the archives I don't have any real progress but with the HTX meet coming up this wekend I decided to throw some sheet metal on and take my project along for the ride. I also need to get some measurments for some possible modifications to my original game plan. I'll get everyone's opinions on them later I started this evening with a rolling frame, this is what I'll be bringing

I'll try to get some better pics in the daylight tomorrow.

Re: Project Orange to Green

Tires are 275 40 ZR17. A little over 25.5 inches tall. I think I figured on a 28" tall tire when I set it up. Right now I'm at 3" to the bottom of the rocker (not the pinch weld but where the rocker rolls to it) I figure with a 28" tire and 2.5" spindles in the front(these are stock) and a 28" tall tire in the back I should be sitting close to level with the rockers about 4.5-5" off the ground...I hope Here's a few "projected" ride height pics.

Disclamer: All measurments and modifications are subject to change without prior approval from anyone
On to the pics

Re: Project Orange to Green

Well if you run a 275/40R20 when you get some 20's, that will be a 28.7 inch tall tire & what you have now is 25.7 inches tall according to my calculator, so that will only raise you up about 1.5 inches

Looks like you will need some drop spindles to make it ride level

Cant wait to see it bro

Outback Truck parts in Spring Texas. They're about the same price as everyone else but I don't have to pay shipping.

Re: Project Orange to Green

Thought I would dig this one up as it has been awhile since I took a peek. I still can't believe it was a $1500 truck that ran. Sure is looking good! Keep at it.

Re: Project Orange to Green

The key word is "ran" Some times I wish I had just kept driving it instead of tearing it apart

Re: Project Orange to Green

Hi Mike,
this is the first time I've seen your project.Very cool build! I like your revision to the rear end/four-bar. You now have more angle on the top bars . . . should keep the axle more stable and centered. Looks like you gained some clearance around the axle as well. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to an update.
