Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I will be. I have some questions about the rockers as well... maybe not this week or weekend, but Monday or Tuesday. If you have time I would really like to pick your brain a bit.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Well I know it has been awhile, I bought a bunch of trucks so I had to put on the dismantlers hat for awhile. I also have been working on the frame, engine, and drive train, detail takes so much time. All I have to do is restore my a/c battery box and then I am ready to start it. Will be back on the crewcab this coming week, planning to hit it pretty heavy, I hope to have it ready for the paint shop in the next two weeks. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the engine compartment with a/c if so could you please email me a copy.

This is an awsome build. I wish I had half of your welding and fab skills. Do you mind telling me where you got that Fan Shroud?? I cant seem to find the right one for my application. In fact im almost ready to buy a Double Electric setup if I cant find the right one. I put in a Northern Aluminum Radiator and I installed Vintage Air and they are telling me I should be running a Clutch Fan but I cant seem to get the fan to fit in the shroud properly. Thanks for any help. Looking forward to more pictures. JRBECK64 |

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Thank you for the compliments before I can answer your question I need to know a few things. Are you using a long or short water pump? Does the radiator you installed match all the dimensions of the original? Is your engine all the way forward or all the way back? Are you 4wd or 2wd? Automatic or standard?
Sounds like you have had some frustrating issues, I'm sorry to say I just walked up to the wall of shrouds and picked one that would go to a 4wd. I'm sorry but it fit perfectly without any effort, so I can't say I had to make it happen. As far as my fan goes, I walked up to my wall of fans and grabbed a clutch fan that looked like it would work. I think my fan came off a mid 80's chevy 4wd but I'm not sure because a lot of the vehicles I get in are 67-72 a/c trucks. I hope you don't go to a electric fan setup they are loud and very unoriginal. If I can help in anyway call me, 509-990-3608.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Nice work I've been lurking in the back ground amazed in the amount of work you put in to these 4 doors. I figured you would be an expert in splicing cabs, I was wondering if it would be more less work to do a back to back cab, remove the vent window and make it like a mega cab with suicide doors. I kind of put this together what do you think? Has this been tried or done?

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Getting close to the end. Been taking care of rust issues. If you remember I had those 6' long rockers made out of 16 gauge it sure is nice having rockers by the foot made the job so much easier, way better than store bought. Tomorrow will finish up the floor on driver side, a few minor spots on the passenger side and then a final soda blasting and then this puppy is off to the body shop. Will post more pics tomorrow. I can't wait to drive this truck.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Hart Rod - I'm selling these $300.00 a set plus shipping, don't know what shipping will be and will depend if you want them cut in half or not. In regards to the inner rockers I will have to check and see what the costs will be. I will say that working with these was way cool, much better than the after markets, you don't have to remove so many spot welds and you can trim them to suit your specific needs.
Got pricing on the inner rockers - A set will be $150.00 plus shipping and will be made out of cold rolled steel.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Here are some more pictures of rust repairs under the seat on the driver side. Somebody decided to bolt in some bucket seats and fatigued and tore the metal. So that, along with the rust, I decided to just replace the whole area. Going to go ahead and seal up the floor tomorrow, I will be applying a rubberized coating that some of you might know of, its a product by 3M called Body Schultz. Since I am not going to be entering this truck in any car shows and nobody will see it anyway, I will be using this product to seal up and to sound deadened the floor, it will be applied over primer and then I will paint over it. I have been using this product for years, in fact you might have seen it in my fourth door build, can't say enough about it. More pictures to come later.
