Re: Farmers big block

A friend of my did the work for me. He does excellent work and is a great creative thinker to come up with the great designs.

The seats are out of a '68, and are "buddy buckets".

All the panels are made out of ABS sheets and are secured by spring tabs so they are easy to remove.

Thanks for all your great compliments. Next will be to choose the wheels and tires.

Did he make the armrest or is it out of something else recovered?

Re: Farmers big block

That whole interior is beautiful, very professional looking and some new ideas i've never seen before. I've been watching your build closely, that is going to be one sweet ride. Say...shouldn't a farm truck have a fuel tank in the box, some fenceposts, some bailer twine, and half a roll of barbed wire?

It's only a short box, so if I put the fuel tank back there I will have to make a few more trips hauling the winter fire wood. I DID THE MATH

I got the chevy emblem from a local swap meet. It's off a 55 or 56 sedan rear quarter panel. I bought the vent windows from the same swap meet, the PO had them chromed.

Re: Farmers big block

Made a little head way on the truck. Finished the bed wood inlays and did a test fit. It looks ok know it's time to put on the finish.

Re: Farmers big block

I finely finished the bed wood and installed the bed for the last time. Making the wood has taken a lot longer than it should of. I had one inlay that didn't look right so I had to redo the whole board. I picked the wrong finish the first time so I had to strip all the board and start over. Next time I think plywood would work just fine.

That looks REALLY nice. Definetly worth all the effort you put into it.

I remember how nice the truck looked in person when I saw it. Hope I get to see it out cruising in person sometime.
Great Job.

Re: Farmers big block

I definitely have to agree....VERY nice!

I can't think of any plywood that could possibly look right in that truck....maybe in a past life, but not now

Re: Farmers big block

Thank you all

I have been working on this truck for almost three years. I have set a date that she has to be completed by. Which is July 25th (yes this year) I have made my reservations and paid the fee for the Pacific Northwest GoodGuys show.

I don't have a lot to do but some times the little things can eat up a lot of time.
Working on the hood today, Saturday I have two friends coming over to help me put the front end on.
