I was home for a couple of days, got the Shockwaves in the front and started making the brackets and stuff for the rear. I didn't realize that I wasn't going to have enough travel in the rear so I decided to make a cantilever setup. I made alot of cardboard templates before deciding on the final thing. Still going to have to work the bugs out...

Thanks, that is a track torch. I seen one when I was a kid in high school. A few years back a welding shop was going out of business My brother in law knew them so I was able to go in before the auction and buy some equipment. Real nice score it drives itself you can cut strait lines or you can hook a string or small cable to it and a center point and cut a circle. A little old school maybe today with all the plasma cutters out there but nice to have.

In post #99 you have a square tube to mock up, what is the length center to center? You mention the shock travel is limited in the rear end, what causes the decrease in travel? Great work thanks Nut case

Hey Nut Case,
Sorry I'm not home I'm back on the road. The measurement is on Flat Out's directions. It is different on the Shockwaves then coilovers. The Shockwaves only have about 4 inches of total travel. I wanted more travel I want to lay the rockers on the ground.
Looking back I didn't do my homework. I wanted the Vette suspension then midway through I wanted to bag it. If I were to do it over I would go with Porterbilt Dropmember stuff.

Nut Case the measurements on the Flat Out directions are 11 1/2" on the front ones and
11 3/4" on the rear this is to take the place of the coilovers during your setup.

I got a little bit done over the weekend I had to work on the semi. There is always something to fix on that thing. Anyhow I stopped by Tuckers in Vegas on the way home bought a ton of stuff, front and rear fenders, hood, steering column, tail lights, u joints for the steering, headlights, complete wiring kit, motor mounts. I didn't take any pictures though I just realized that. Cleaned up the motor and trans. Something about a Chevy motor, to me it should be orange. I don't know where they came up with black.

--- Black engine blocks usually mean some type of aftermarket manufacturer ..... DART, Merlin, Keith Black, Donovan etc.... They never wanted to be thought of as "OEM"....

Welded up some motor mounts and got the motor tacked in. Got a few days off so I hope to get everything mocked up so I can pull it apart and finally weld it up.

Oh also forgot the Camaro oil pan. I have to call Don at Flatout and order the Vette rack that he retools with the lines out the front for a little more room under the pan.

Looks good...in case I missed it somewhere what brand headers are you using...I've got one of Dons crossmembers on the way and those look like they have plenty of clearance..and on your rack and pinion there's a way to clock the housing on it to do the same thing.http://www.trifivechevys.com/showthr...nversion-frame

Thanks for that link. I don't feel that energetic to change the lines.

I didn't get to much done. I got the motor and trans. mounted. I still want to put the cab back on and the core support, radiator and fan to make sure it all falls into place.
It was a little warm this week.
