Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Carb is madia blasted, new base plate but the carb is warped so Cory is off to Wally's tonite to machine it, i guess it is a major problem with the Holley's. But she will be good as new.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Yeah, there is a little bit there. It is a 468, i think the cam is a 550 lift, Cory will correct me if wrong, Rectangular port heads, seriously worked by cory, roller rockers, blueprinted and blended carb, by Cory. Ummm not sure about the bottom, I know that it will be roughly 650hp when done. BTW, that turbo in the background is pf Corys' Hyabusa drag bike. Around 7 seconds.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Very, very nice work! I really like how you braced the inner structure of the car before cutting it apart. It amazes me every time I see someone cut anything that far apart that they ever get it back together when they don't brace them. You do awesome work!

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
I Friggin love threads like this!!! Awesome work on the Camaro. To me there's nothing like classics skinned to their bones and seeing the engineering that goes into these beasts as they receive TLC.
Keep up the good work and keep us posted. Thanks Also what's the story on the '63 Bonneville (right?)??

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
I believe that is what it is, your right, just another farm yard treasure, at my farm we have 1 64 station wagon and 3 bonnevilles and a 2 door 65? all in really nice shape.Want pics? I know where there is alot of old cars, but up here no one wants them, they are not 30's, or muscle cars, we have a quite a few at the farm, i would say close to 100. But i have not enough time or money. Tried selling with no luck, heck i have a 1971 Javelin SST in great shape all there and no luck selling that either. oh well, i would sooner them rot than crush them. But if some body wanted them, GONE!

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
If you have 100 cars, I'm guessing you have a lot of very cool old pieces of history sitting there. Many of the cars here were crushed or all the good parts are gone and or destroyed by the elements.

Nice pontiacs! My old boss used to have a 69 Judge Ram Air 3 car. I used to have a 67 GTO clone and regret letting it go.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
That is some cool history you have there James. I didn't realized your family grows cars on the farm. Seriously, there is a market for those cars maybe not in your area but somewhere?
About the bracing Deisel mentioned above, hopefully you will explain how I need to do it when I get ready to start a Camaro. |

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Had my Friday off, now that i am a gov't employee, took the time and worked on the car, and picked up another job also. More on that in a bit. I finished the underneath of the car, patched up the remaining holes, welded up two patches, and sanded the underneath. Also finished the sub frame connectors. DSE wants you to weld them solid to the subframe, I refuse to do that. So i build them to bolt on a connector btn the frame and connector. Done, After I was done that, I went out to the shop at about 11 at nite and ground out the roof stuffing, yuck is all i can say. I was fully covered with masks and everything and covered with dust also. But finished that all up and let is settle overnite so I could clean the shop up the next morning. Now all I have to do is sand some on the inside and that is done. YAH! Oh and i picked up a 67 chevelle to do next winter also.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone
Thanks, Holleys are notorious for warpin at th base plate mounting flange over time from the constant heat and cool cycles. No one ever checks/notices this. Just one little aspect.
