Re: '68 c10 build
I don't have much of an update today. We got the other door hung and will try to get them painted this week. The front sheet metal shipped today so hopefully it gets here soon.

I'll have to stop in and see your truck next time I'm in Farmington. Hey, I might make a trip up there just to do that!

Re: '68 c10 build
For sure, any time. They are building a killer '69 Camaro right now too. Has a 900 hp lsx in it. It's worth the trip just to see it.

Re: '68 c10 build
We didn't use the self-leveling seam sealer on this one. I wanted to, but got vetoed. That is what I used on my personal truck, and in my opinion it is the way to go. I don't know the part number but just tell the paint store you want "self-leveling 3m auto mix." That should get you what you need.

Re: '68 c10 build
Today we hung the sheet metal on the front. Both sides needed a little work, but all-in-all a pretty good product (AMD). I also installed the bumpers and weatherstripping on the doors.
The front end is definitely going to need to come down. We will probably go 2 more inches to get the look we are wanting. Hopefully we will get the fenders painted tomorrow or Thursday. Possibly the grille (white) as well.

Re: '68 c10 build
Not yet, I'm still rehabbing me knee from the surgery I had at the end of November. Dr. says no kneeling or squatting yet so its a little hard to get any work done at the moment. Hopefully soon though.

Re: '68 c10 build
It's looking great. I have a question, though: Why are you painting it in pieces? Obviously, your dad and his crew are pros and know what they're doing, but I was always told to do the jambs and hidden areas, then bolt it back together and paint the whole exterior at once. Is that outdated thinking?
