Nice build! I hear ya about "the slowest build ever" thats how I feel about mine! There just never seems to be enough time for these things, I have three kids all in sports, work and home renovations but I always try to do something on my truck if I find even an hour or so. A little progress is better than no progress.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

no need to rush quality work. hahhah I think many of us have been in your shoes. My first two projects, I'd get anxiety if I missed a weekend to work on them. My current project (smoothest going one yet) I'v taken months off and then I start getting like, ok its time to put aside all my other issues and get back on this thing. You'll get there.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

Made some more progress today on the wheel tubs. I used trailer finders and cut them down. 3" wide gives me plenty of clearance. Now I am trying to decide wood floor or a steel one that I can get Rhino lined the same color as the truck. I really like the wood bed look but worried about maintaining it since I want to use this truck to haul things. Still have plenty of time to decide.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

The mini tubs turned out great! A trailer fender is an excellent way to fabricate a nice product without breaking the bank or running out the clock.

Making progress on body. First coat of primer is on. Starting to get closer to looking like a truck again. 👍

Re: 1948 Chevy project

Cab is looking great. Decided on a color yet?

I'm doing a 2nd Gen 55 and my cab seems so small - can't imaging a 47-54! Looks full with just the seat installed.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

I am leaning towards the light blue on the new Chevy Impala. I have lite gray interior so thought that would look good.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

I raced for just over 10 years and it is without a doubt expensive, retired in 2005 right when the new ohv engines were being introduced. Good looking start on your truck, will keep checking back regularly.

Re: 1948 Chevy project

Finally some color. Interior and firewall painted. This way I can bolt back on chassis and do interior and electrical and not scratch outside. Will do the rest of paint later on. Just starting to come together. Will get some outside pics in the next few days. Color does not show up good. It is more of a blue and looks silver/grey in pics. Just excited to be making some progress.
