Re: Any van love?
I had to move the TV forwrard so the mid passengers could see it clearly. This meant basicly rebuilding the front of the cabinet. I left the very outside edges alone so I knew it would fit back into place. The TV also has to be tilted down so I cut some blocks with the right angle and attatched some metal straps to the TV that could be screwed to the blocks. They cant be seen once installed. I also replaced the old mobile home radio in the back

Re: Any van love?
Believe it or not I was thinking of this thread the other nite. Some good looking vans been posted since I last posted here.
Sadly to say the van I posted hasn't had about 100 miles put on it since then. Me and the ex split it hasn't been drove since. |

Re: Any van love?
Picked this up earlier this year. Almost completely rust free, cool 70's survivor with cool 70's interior, camper hauler. I haven't had any time this summer to use it, so unfortunately I probably have to sell it to fund 4x4 project.

Re: Any van love?
Very cool.
But what would it be used for? Mainly just camping? Can't see myself wanting to use something like that around the house much lol. Even at party times |

Re: Any van love?
Here is my 83 Chevy camping van, the top raises up just like the van in post #11. It comes complete with tuck and roll interior, shag carpet, special seat fabric and the mighty 305 engine. I love the thing but is a pain in the but to work on, not to mention the under powered 305. The carb needs rebuilt and valve covers replaced.............another project

I'm a sucker for early/mid 70's vintage Ford truck, Bronco, and van grills and you have the perfect combo going there. Any inside pics? |

Re: Any van love?
With the increase in popularity of vans, I am surprised this thread doesnt see more action.

Re: Any van love?
Here is my Chevy .... A 1 of 3 G30 454 4X4 EXT ADRENALIN BY THE GALLON
The government ordered it from GM and sent it down to Armortek in Texas, then up to Salt Lake City to Advanced Four Wheel Drive Systems for a 1 ton GMC front end. Then they gave it to the Cuban diplomats in Miami for 3 years then Nevada got it to look for oil in Elko, NV. Then the Utah Olympics took it and put $10k in the upholstery, paint and drive line. Four months after that, I got it in an auction for $12,500. It has bullet-resistant glass and steel plates in the walls. (I found that out when I pulled the carpet off the walls and a 3/8” A-R plate fell out. That plate at the scrapyard paid for the interior.) ’93 G30 454 4×4 EXT, 4l80E, np205, 4-56 spacers in a DANA front and GM Corp rear, Bilstein 5100s, BFG 315/75/16, 146″ wheelbase. This was all factory or government, well almost. I have increased the tire size to mellow The Beast, but it’s still way more motor than tire. They only made three. It’s a two-seater. I ripped out the four bench seats, diamonded the floor, oaked the walls and added fishing rod racks, limousine roof, 12 speaker 1000 watt Sony surround, exercise bike, telescope that you can count the rings of Saturn and, oh yea, a hammock to sleep in and watch the stars. In February 2011 it made Hot Rod and Truckin’ magazines and then Drive magazine two months later. Since then it’s made Custom 4×4, Extreme 4×4 and Thunders Garage. |
