Yes but facing towards the house.

This weekend is all about hydraulic cement and tar, then backfill and clean up the mess come the work week.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

good layout. It'll be nice to be able to plow in front of the doors without having to backdrag everything.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

VT I pulled the gate out this weekend to take some picts, but I had to pull the gear box and PS pump from my 07 Dodge since the PS quit and a big Mega cab Diesel don't turn with no PS. I am sorry it has taken so long, but looks as though you are busy as well.

In AZ I got some sunburn this weekend out in the yard, but the frost and snow is around the corner here as well, just wishing it away for as long as I can! Wall and future shop space looks great, wish my house was mine as I'd like to get more garage. I told my wife I want a huge shop with a cot in the corner, she didn't laugh?!

Not so much, had to go back to work.

However, not dead...have decided on a floor joist structure that will clear span the 26ft interior dimension.
(manufactured wooden 'I' beams are the ticket)

And currently working up a materials list, still need to file the permit too.

Progress is progress...it all has to be done.

Those I-joists must be like 16" wide to be able to clear span 26'.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Latest Update:

Going with an attic truss structure.
This will simplify the build and allow for a 12ft floor w/8ft collar ties the entire 22ft length...say storage baby!

Trusses arrived today, contractor 'might' work Saturday but most likely walls will be built Monday and trusses placed on Tuesday.

All other materials are also on site already, all the decking/roofing/weather tight materials...etc.

Any blazer progress?
Yes, picked up a 4spd tilt column for it.
Thinking it will be easier to install a 4spd shifter on the floor to deal with the 700r tranny.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Damn you and Greg for your killer man-spaces. Glad to see you're making progress.

On the shifter...I gotta say the B&M cable shifter I have was super easy to set up. Shifts nice and looks good too.

Yeah I agree, I was going to go cable eitherway, one of the best mods I ever did on my blue blazer.

Got a link/model number or something?
Are there any pics of it installed in your build thread?

B&M Truck Megashifter link @ Summit

Here's a couple of pics installed in mine:

The pics aren't recent as I currently don't have a tcase shifter...just a hole in the floor. But I'm working on something cool....
