that's pretty wild, k mart didn't survive Walmart moving in right down the street not familiar with the jailhouse never got into much of the bar scene since I moved here in 94 to many people for my liking prefer the small bars like over in roundup.

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home

guess I should probably post a project update.

the old is gone and we got most of the extra stuff off of it and onto the new motor just have the intake and flywheel to go. plus have to do a lot of scrubbing before I slap it in the truck man that bell housing is nasty....

park brakes are good now

this part was a bit unnerving

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home

maybe you all can help me out with this one, i'm pretty sure this is home made the ball is braised onto the plate. I know my truck might not be correct because we did a i6 to v8 swap and I had a donor v8 truck to use the parts off of but don't remember what we used. my ball is screwed directly into the block instead of using a bracket like this. is her's correct?

that's what I was thinking, is the ball just suppose to be screwed into the block or is there suppose to be something similar to this homemade contraption?

i'll be close to your neck of the woods all next week out doing midnight maintenance

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home

I'll have to confirm but I thought it just screwed into the block. The stuff in the pic looks like instead of finding the factory clutch linkage a farmer just made his own lol. What town ya going to be in? I just got my super shortbox back yesterday from getting rearend completely rebuilt. Only think not replaced was the housing.

it was a contractor truck so anything's possible. sounds like you're wallet just got a bit lighter. I can't imagine how many miles are actually on this old girl. the first night i'll be working my way from Jordan to Miles City, then moving on to Baker the next night that's all the farther I've planned so far

I have 2 of the same brackets. One the ball is welded the other is screwed in. One from my '70 the other from a '69

Re: My Daughter's 72 just made it home

i'm pretty sure the throw out bearing just went to heck on me. moved it in and out of the garage and it's making a heck of a noise when you push in the clutch....
