I think Rare Earth thought they were the new Motown

Hmmm, maybe 'ol Barry figured since he was payin' the cost...

Another guy you may not associate with Motown:

Here is a recent one...

The Doors were all over this era for sure. How could it have taken till now for me to think of Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart? I was playing these tapes for sure!

This is my alltime favorite Rod Stewart song. Love it just as much today as nearly 50 years ago. It'd raw loose sound and his scruffy voice are a perfect match. AND... you get Ron Wood's guitar

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music

I was 10 in 1967 so I was listening to what my older siblings were into most of the time. I remember At night we were able listen to KOMA AM radio out of Oklahoma City . They played better music than the local AM stations in Pueblo .

I remember Cowgirl In The Sand as a theme for the times. I liked Neil Young and never had a gal argue on that. They loved him!

Can't leave out Cinnamon Girl. Another anthem of the time.

Let's just set on Neil a while

So 1967 brought on a brave new world. We had the bold new truck line, the frisky little thing called Camaro, and we had THIS!!
(I can't make this stuff up)

Jefferson Airplane - Bark Sessions - Pretty As You Feel - 70/71

A very well oiled machine at this point. So smooth. So fine

John Mayall felt compelled to write a song about Groupie Girls in '71. Musta seen enough of that. He just turned 86 this week, still out there doing his music, gathering top musicians

The Band. Levon Helm drumming and singing, what a talent.

Badfinger is one of my favorites from that time frame. I was born in 1969 so a lot of this music i was introduced tome by my father and uncle.

Good stuff there. Hey, I used my moderator powers to edit your post. What I did is make it so more than the link shows. Some folks are leery of clicking. All you have to do, once hitting paste, is delete the 's' out of 'https'. It's that simple. A little tip I am grateful for a member here showing me.

I do like going back with my music. I had Dave Mason cross my mind. I was a big fan and went to a few of his concerts back when I did such things

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music

On this day in 1980,John Lennon was murdered outside his home by a sick pos!
John was a well known peace activist who stopped to autograph an album by a fan,who then shot him multiple times in the back.
He founded the Beatles and along with Paul McCartney ( and George Harrison and Ringo Starr) made it one of the most iconic and best selling groups of all time!
RIP,John!

R.I.P. John Lennon. You helped bring peace to the world through music, not war, and got shot in the BACK for it. R.I.H. Mark David Chapman.
