Re: 77 longbed "overbudget" build
Well a small update I have a local club member going by my place tomarrow (weather permiting) to check out the body damage to my bed and shoot me a quote for a few other things and will hopefully be getting rolling on the body work for it while I am waiting for my manual conversion stuff to accumulate and some motor parts to arrive.
I have some great friends and some great new ones that will be helping me with the truck while I am over here so will get some pictures up as soon as I can. Thanks everyone.

Re: 77 longbed "overbudget" build
Wow so alittle over three years between updates might be e too long lol. The Ole girl.has been through some changes in last couple of years to include being sold for a year then found and bought back. Pops has passed so now it just my project and he is overwatch. Currently she is in a buddies backyard in texas. I moved to Louisiana for work. Picking her up in next few weeks and starting on the build again. I will start posting some pics of the last couple years for yall.

Re: 77 longbed "overbudget" build
Hey man, have you still got your truck? I hope the last year and a quarter have gone well for you. I just went the whole way through your thread and respect your approach. Did what you could, when you could and really got after it when time and dollars allowed. Hope you've kept it. Sorry to hear about your dad. Sounds like you may have jumped into the civilian world. Even if that's so, thank you for the time you served. Update us if you're still diggin square bodies.

Thanks Rida. If he has inclination to, I'd love to see it and I'm probably not the only one. I really enjoy the down to earth builds like this one.

Re: 77 longbed "overbudget" build
Long time no write lol, lots has happened as I’m sure is the same for everyone. Well my major change is I was in a motorcycle wreck early this year and lost my right lower leg and the use of right arm temporarily, so the build will be skittle slower this time lol. Well like a lot of things in life do, I have come full circle to rebuilding the truck again 🤦🏻*♂️ several years ago I ended up bagging the truck as I was into at the time and ended up never really driving her due to never leaving anything alone. Then eventually decided to go back to stock. Sold bagged frame and the 82 front clip for a correct 77 style clip. Fast forward another 3ish years of the cab sitting on dollys next to my shop. And here we are today. I have a complete 76 parts truck that I am simply swapping my cab onto them repainting. Right now tho I have my cab in the shop doing metal repair and rust removal. Did both side rockers, one side cab corner, and bottom of doors.
Once I get that done I’ll break the parts truck down to frame and get ole girl fresh and clean one more time lol.
