Thank you very much for the links. Y'all got me back on track with those ideas. I'm working on the 87-91 and the Bronco 2 tanks to see which looks like it will work better. This is the bracket that I was planning on using, but I like the one you posted. it seems more versatile.

Hi Ochre, I read through your build and really appreciate the quality work you are doing. The metal repairs completed were really impressive....and the old Chevrolet dealership was very cool. Anyway, enjoyed catching up and will be tagging along.

I really appreciate the links provided. They were a great help. After too much thinking about it, I finally installed the fuel tank.
I used:
31 gallon 91 blazer tank
Vapor worx stainless steel ring that I had the tank cut and welded in at a local fab shop.
AC delco MU1416 - Fuel pump assembly
Precision Z11003 fuel pump pigtail
AC Delco - 10325852 locking ring for fuel pump
Bought a used extra rear cross member from this site and powder coated to match.
LMC- 32-5822 fuel tank straps- for the bottom
Spectra - ST120 straps for the top.
S.U.R&R. 3/8 nylon fuel line with quick connects

I moved everything rear ward and drilled new holes to secure the front & rear cross members.
I modified the straps and had to add a small spacer to the front cross member
Very straight forward install.
I ended up with what I wanted:
A higher capacity tank.
Fuel pump that will provide correct fuel pressure for my LS
Quiet and reliable with no sucking air or having to fill up at 1/4 tank.
Returnless with no filter or regulator on the rail. Just one line running up the rail.The filter is inside the module.
Looks semi-factory and didn't spend close to the expense of an aluminum tank.

Driveshafts cut, shortened/lengthened, balanced and torqued. New U-joints, slip yoke caps, bushings, new parts in the double cardan joint.

Decided to do some electrolysis to see if I could save some parts. Turned out pretty good. Made my tub too small so I could only do half of the part at a time.

Solution for size change from my filler neck to the larger neck on the tank. Tank was in a different spot. This looks like it will do the trick. Made a template out of a paper towel roll and a local exhaust shop made it for $10.00. I think the small original pipe that got smaller in the S bends was the source of my trouble getting it to take fuel without shutting off.

When I set the body down for a test fit of the filler neck I noticed that the tail pan was hitting my rear cross member. I had to trim a little off.

Radiator was a little more trouble than I thought, but I am happy with how it fits. The radiator hoses were for a 2004 6.0L and fit with a little trimming.

I went with a heavy duty version for a 72 and bought adapters from O'reilly's for the cooler. The lower retaining brackets needed to be moved out dn re-rivoted for the thicker core and the upper brackets had to be trimmed on the grinder. Another reason I screwed up getting everything powder coated before the test fitting of everything. Live and learn. Thanks for the compliment! Ditto on your build. Now I'm searching for a well fitting dual cooling fan set-up. Every car that comes through the shop that we pull the fans out of get carried over for a test fit.

Did you look into the Jeep Grand Cherokee fan that fits into the factory shroud? I found a true dual speed (meaning two windings in the motor) version.

MOPAR part number 52079528AD or Dorman part number 620-041
