Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Would you recommend your wide IFS for a street/strip set-up? I think the weight savings is almost worth the extra $$$. Shooting for 10secs with daily drivabilty and comfort. Would it be too hard to set-up corner carving and still have the ability to hook at the track?

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Strip set up is easy. for street driving you wil have 16 to 18 clicks of rebound in the front shocks. At the strip, reach down and take ALL of the rebound out of the shocks, 0 clicks, then run it. normally, 100 lbs = .1 sec. but, 100 lbs off the front of a truck = .2 sec. Then, if the R rear tire isn't biting hard enough, un-hook one sway bar link in front.

Good info. Rob...on these shocks which way is "0 Clicks"? Fully clockwise, or CCW?

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Yes, you could. We do have our Fat-Bar rear suspension fitted up. What we don't have is a bed mount kit that is specific to the 73-87 short box, so some fab work may be required.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
That's the answer I was hoping for. It may still be easier to cut/weld the stock frame but really I'm just trading one type of fab work for another. Also trying to use what I have on hand as a cost saver. I have a late model set (99-07) Hotchkis 4" lowering leaf springs I'm thinking I could mount close too or inline with the frame (to fit big tire) flip kit style. The raised rails would probably work well here.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
also, those raised rails would come in handy (thinking) with the tall diff pumkin the GM 14 bolt 10.5" FF rear axle has and the amount of suspension drop I'd like to have, as I'm staying 8lug.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
I have a 65 GMC Suburban with coils front and leafs rear. I also have a 1988 C20 Suburban that I bought for the 454 drive train. I see a lot of information about frame swaps but it always stops at 87 not 88. My question is can I shorten the 88 frame and put it under my 65 and what would you recommend for spindles to get to 5 bolt disc front and rear. The 88 has the same coil front and leaf rear configuration but with discs already on th front but 8 bolt pattern. I've asked on several sites but they all want to talk about DMV problems (I have clear titleson both so no problem) rather than how to do it. Any help would be great.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
An '88 Suburban is the same "basically" as a '87. They continued on in that configuration until '91 I believe, as did the Blazer's.
years were '73-'87 for the trucks... but '73-'91 for the Subs and K5's IIRC.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Here are some more picts of the new rear rail kit. These parts are now ready to ship.
We decided to package them in a "Base +" format, to help allow for a variety of install options, without forcing a lot of spare parts on the customer. This way you can get just the parts you want/need. The base rail kit includes the two main rails, three crossmembers, three sets of bed mount stands, Internal overlay plates, Grade-8 hardware package, and instructions. The list price is set at $1145. + shipping (expect $150 +). Trailing arm package. This includes the upper coil/bag mounts, out-board shock mounts (no shocks) and Panhard rod kit. List $395. + shipping We have a new Heavy Duty low profile trailing arm crossmember with raised pivit mounts. It is 1/4" steel, and has exhaust ports and a raised driveshaft loop. This bolts in to stock holes. List $249 + shipping. Fat Bar 4-bar kit - Basic, Designed to use 5" stroke (12" - 17") coil-overs. This is shown in the picts. No coil-overs $599 + shipping Add billit coil-overs with springs, 12", 200 lb. + $445 Add RideTech Shockwave single adjustable 8000 series, + $825 Fat Bar 4-bar with bag and shock, complete, includes Firestone 8000 series slider bags and Doetch nitro shocks List $ 1189 + shipping

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Some more info. The rail kit is designed to be a full bolt on. The are over fifty - 50, grade-8 bolts in the package. It is the instalers choice to weld or not. The new rails are stronger than the OE when bolted. Welding will add to the strength and ridgidity of the chassis, just as welding up the OE chassis. Your choice. If you decide to weld, make sure the chassis is square and level when you do.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Awesome! Couple of questions.....67-72 SWB is somewhat shorter than 73-87 SWB......would I leave my 73 frame that amount longer? Would there be a difference in frame height at that difference? i.e. where the rear rail kit would bolt up? Other than bed mounts what else might I be up against? I understand there may not be solid answers but any info will help! Thanks!

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
As far as I know the frame rail hieght is the same, at 6" OD. I really don't know the difference in lengths, or rear axle CL. If you were to use our 4-bar, I would start by lining up the axle CL, then adjust the rail placement from there, possibly needing to add on to the rear bed mount.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
here are some more picts showing the tank installed, the big brakes and the bed sitting on. The tank is 19 gal, and sits up into the cavity created by the raised floor. The bottom of the tank is just above the lower bed side.

Re: No Limit Spy Photos
Sorry if I missed it (did my best searching), but do you have more info on this sway bar? http://www.nolimitparts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SB-190 Any installed pics and mounting/size info? I like the over the frame rear bar, but have another companies panhard/shock re locator kit which i'm keeping for now at least. I have no mounting provisions for the axle side end links on the over frame bar currently. Thanks.
