Well done Andy it's nearly there . Help as well . As they say if you get them interested in old cars they will never have any money for drugs . Best of all she will be able to mend her own car when she gets older .

Eldest daughter isn't really interested but youngest always has been from about the age of 4, has her own overalls too. On Sunday we are going watching BTCC British Touring Cars racing near us and she is really excited.

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
As I'm using sidelights (parking lights) built into the headlight I had to cut a section of the grill out to clear the sidelight. This then allows me to use the parking lights just as indicators.

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
On my return from France after watching Le-Mans 24hr I popped in to see Martin, picked up a Propshaft, pairs of front wings and pair of reverse lights last weekend.
Fitted the reverse lights last night to use as rear indicators, should have been a 10 min job but ends up 2 hours as found the lamp holders corroded, so needed to install new lamp holders, luckily I had 2 new lamp holder in stock. Also tried out a colour on the side and going to give it the patina look. Like the colour but need to sort out the patina effect, have some rust paint to try and might introduce a bit of grey primers also.

Rear lamps look great and the colour is perfect for a "patina" finish, it's gonna look awesome

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
Rear lamps look good . Best way to add indicator lamps for the UK MOT and keeping it looking stock . It was good to see you and did ŷou go home the way I suggested ?

You certainly know your way around Andy.
Looking real good. Sorry I could not pop over the other night, was being held captive by XL spreadsheets. And 90 minutes at that point was just not available.

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
This morning started out wet play day
So decided to fabricate some brackets for the rear air bags. started with some 75 x 40 box section and made it up as I went along. Then need to make some brackets for the bottom of the air bag, so turned this into this Bit of air bag control relay temporary lash up to get things moving Air bags in place and brackets welded to chassis and trailing arms With this success moved into the exhaust, got a stainless back back but only 2" outlet Boo....... So grafted on a 3" stainless pipe with a slash cut for good measure. worked out how to route the exhaust up over the axle and clear in full height and lowered. But that can be tomorrows job.

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
You are starting to embarrass me now Andy.......
That is some neat "make it up as you go" engineering. Looking very good. Pity I did not know, I have a Yamaha Titanium exhaust here, that was modified for a kit car, with side bent exit, that could easily be slash cut, or even opened and modified, that you, could have had.mAlso have a Suzuki GSXR item I bought from a boot fair for a five.

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
That looks really good Andy . Are you going to fit air on the front as well ? The blue looks very familiar . I'd even go as far as to say it looks like the colour of my truck when I picked it up
Keep up the good work it's always good too see home grown ideas

Re: Uber Cool's 1963 C10 LWB Fleetside in England
small update.
Monday was a bummer night, struggled with the exhaust routing. So gave up and moved onto to try the propshaft. major bummer its the wrong model and wrong all together, its too short on the front and rear shafts. So went to bed not a happy bunny. Wednesday got back on it and having consulted with a local Propshaft shop decided it will be best to have a complete new 2 piece prop made. Next job to tackle was the air valve body , compressor and tank mounting, the lazy option would be to install in the bed and cover with a box. However it feels like a cop out and will bite me on the arse in future if I want to replace the load bed wood or just use the full bed the transport stuff around. So after many cups of tea, lying on the floor and pulling faces like this. I came up with the idea of a frame slung under the bed and attached to the outside of the chassis rail. Ignore the temp wiring lash up, that will be rewired. But think I need a larger air tank for 4 bags. control paddle is pretty clever, you can do each corner on its own, combine front and rear only , or middle switch does all 4 corners
