Re: How about some pics of 47-59
After 5.5 years of effort we put our 54 on the road in July of 08. In July of 09 we had 12.5K miles on the clock. It is my daily driver. Still have the hood to paint, the AC to install and the sound system to finish but until then I driving it. It is nice to drive something different than the Camry or Suburban.
Even in Houston traffic people tend to make room for you when you drive something that brings a smile to their face and yours. Last edited by Houston54; 06-07-2011 at 12:55 PM. |

Some of my junk. Have 16 vehicles on the property. Most are solid projects that I will probably never get to. Will hoard them until something better comes along I guess.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
This is my Dad's 50 they have started on it and should hopefully be finished early summer 2010. It will have a 5.3l out of a 2002 chev p/u with an s10 front clip and a custom frame the rest of the way back so the floor can be dropped six inches to get the room needed for him to get in with a wheel chair. I did end up with the frame with the rebiult 6 cylinder and an automatic tranny in it a great start to something for me.

I gotta say- there are some very nice trucks here. I love the body style of the older trucks. My next project (hopefully) will be something like FiftyTwo's-- that is a clean ride!!

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Here's mine. I am going on a 9 yr build. When I started I was single with no kids. This build has survived a marriage and two small boys.
I am in the final assembly stage. I hope to be able to drive it by next fall. 95 LT1, 4760E, air ride on a modified g-body frame. At some point I need to make a decision on wheels. Either 20" or 22". This will give you a better idea of what the custom mix green looks like Marc Last edited by youngrodder; 10-31-2009 at 11:06 AM. |
