Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
I noticed that on another thread, saw you were in the military, and was going to ask you, but spaced it off. She works in the ER Dept of the military hospital up there. She is not in the Army any more, but still is associated with it.
(edit) I just skimmed through your build, and caught that you work in the OR. Last edited by chevy_man5; 12-24-2011 at 09:22 AM. |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Hoping to see an update soon Jason, sucks that she wants the truck out of the divorce. But considering her name wasn't on the title, I don't see how she'd be able to get it. And I think the judge would be very much in the wrong to award it to her. Hopefully it all goes well, and her plans won't work. Sounds to me like you're going through what my dad's friend Dave went through with his first wife.

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Still waiting on the divorce. We had a pretrial back on 2/10/12, and the judge ordered mediation for property division. Next court date is 3/16/12, so everyone keep your fingers crossed!!
My son and I spent some time working on a radio idea for the truck, or for the next truck, depending on what happens. We also went and helped another site member work on his truck the last couple of weekends. It felt good to actually work on a truck again!! |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Good luck. If you need a place to put your truck I have plenty of room and far enough away that no one will find it.

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
why not sell the truck to a friend for around one or two dollars, the court might ask you to split the money 50/50 , not much any way, and then after you are done with the divorce buy it back for the same price

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
I thought about it, but cannot sell or transfer any property after the divorce has been filed. She has been selling things "for living expenses", but they would throw the book at me, so I am not even going to risk it. She doesn't even just want half of the profit, she wants the truck. I'm sure her boyfriend has his eye on it.
I don't think she (they) even realize what all the truck needs. The brakes are shot, all of the wheel cylinders leak, or are frozen, the drums are WAY thin. The clutch is stuck disengaged, and the cylinder for it doesn't seem to do anything. The engine turned over, but I have no idea if it is good or not at this point. There is rust everywhere, normal for these trucks. The wiring is almost totally gone, and or shot. There is a nasty grinding noise coming out of the rear diff when we turn the wheels. Other than those things, plus others I am sure I have forgotten, it is a great truck!! LOL Next court date is the middle of next month, so hopefully, I will know what is happening then, and be able to move on with my life. I just want to be done with her!! |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
man i hope it all goes well at the end, people now a days do things without thinking about it, im guessing they are hoping to just get the truck and drive it home like if it is in working condition, i wish you good luck on staying with your truck, it is a pretty nice truck, by the way i remember you posting about pics of 60 - 61 long step side , i have a 64 long step side maybe i can upload a picture and you can take a look at it, its almost the same design

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Any pictures you have of it would be appreciated. I would like to get some from each side, as centered as possible up, down, and left right, that way they are easier for me to mess around with using my LIMITED photo editing capabilities. LOL
If you want to send me some pictures, I can PM you my e-mail address, then they won't be limited down by the sites picture sizing, if that's OK with you. Thanks you! |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
I haven't had time to mess around with the pictures yet. I did just pick up a spin on oil filter adapter from a board member. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=496864 So hopefully I keep the truck. If for some reason I don't keep it, then I'll re-sell it to someone else on here.
My kids and I have been going over and helping another board member work on his truck, so we can at least get some truck therapy in! LOL The property division mediation is the end of next week, and the trial is at the end of the week after that, so i should know more soon! |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
WOOOHOOOO
I get to keep my truck!!! Had a settlement meeting today, and gave her half of my retirement account, so I could keep the truck and my Harley! She accepted! The attorneys approved it, we signed it, and it is already in the mail to the judge. As soon as he signs it, it'll be 100% over!!! |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Thanks guys!
Tony, we wiped out 3/4 of the retirement account last year for her "treatment" programs, so there wasn't much left anyway. My son is at his mom's this weekend, so probably won't do much until next weekend when he can be here. I will be out puttering with it until then though! LOL |

Re: '60 GMC 4x4 Long Fenderside
Congrats Jason! Real glad you get to keep the truck and the Harley. It would have been just wrong if she got that truck. Something you have kept around for so long, I can imagine why you didn't wanna let go. Glad to know you get to keep it. Can't wait to see how it goes down the road, man. Again, congrats. Starting a new build if you wanna check it out. It's starting with a Suburban. Actually, haven't done anything yet except bring the Suburban home. Go check out the thread and read up. Lol.

Jason - I know you will be so relieved when all this is done!! I cannot even imagine what you have been through.
Was afraid that I was going to have to hide out that 383 of yours for awhile at my house Boise roadster show is this weekend- I think we are going Friday night.
