Re: My first 67-72! (68 Burb)
I ended up using the 1973 style motor mount/crossmember. I notched the crossmember to let the motor mount sit flush to the crossmember like it's supposed to. Since the 1968 frame has a slightly smaller C-channel than the 1973's, it wouldn't quite fit without a little adjustment. Once I had it all lined up in the 68 frame, I just had to drill new holes to bolt the motor mounts to the crossmember. Then I took it all out again to buff the frame and get it in primer.. And for you over observant ones, yes, the front diff is upside down and backwards.. not bolted in lol.

Re: My first 67-72! (68 Burb)
Got the D60 bolted up today so I could roll it out of the garage and turn it around to start on the rear suspension and diff.. So.. if the front is a 1 ton and the back is a 1/2 ton, does that make it a 3/4 ton?

Re: My first 67-72! (68 Burb)
Been doing some juggling with deciding which spring hangers and leafs to use, still have a few more measurements left before I decide leaf length etc etc.. Anyway, I'm promising myself that I'll get a bunch more done before it snows.
Time to drop the 1/2 ton diff and trailing arm suspension to make room for leafs and a ff 14 bolt. Got the back end on stands and an 8 lugger wheel mocked up for inspiration, guess I gotta get dirty and do some actual work now!

Re: My first 67-72! (68 Burb)
Yeah.. I thought you were serious until I saw your vehicle history in your signature I probably wont be doing much on it till I get some heat in my garage. I really don't want to wait till spring.

Re: My first 67-72! (68 Burb)
Well I got sick of looking at the Burb covered in snow, so I pushed the 68 back in the garage using a "tow bar" I made in like 5 seconds. It worked great!
I'll be tackling the rear suspension next, starting with ripping out the trailing arms, coils and 1/2 ton diff to make room for a ff 14 bolt on leaf springs. My garage only has one vehicle door, so I figured if I rip the diff out while the Burb is blocking my Blazer in, I'll be forced to finish it if I want to get the Blazer out in the spring!
