Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Thanks. I am starting to feel not so crazy after all. Got that 175" wheelbase truck stripped off and looking at the hole in the roof and the back of the cab and I was seriously thinking "what the h*ll did I buy? A jacked up frame a mile long with a high kick up, terrible gears (457), drum brakes all the way around, no bed, and a cab with a giant hole in the back as well as the roof.
I figured short of throwing in the towel I might as well try to make something out of this mess. I am starting (not totally, but beginning) to think their might be a light at the end of the tunnel. hope it's not a train.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Thanks a lot Flashed and JonnnyVico.
"I REALLY APPRECIATE IT" I come on here seeking validation that "I am not crazy seeing a truck where one does not exist". Hopefully that is true and we're not ALL CRAZY. Old Barry McQuire made a fortune selling the mantra "Car Crazy" and touting the virtues of being a car crazy guy. I think we all (probably most on this site) fall into that category. I do wonder sometimes how much of a stretch it is to go from "Car Crazy to just Bat Sh*t Crazy"? Maybe it's a sign of some semblance of sanity that I even wonder? Huh, I wonder?

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
A few pics of some update. Worked on the back of the cab to smooth out the graft line. Still need to work it some more but wanted to put some paint on to ward off surface rust. Once it's there it's blast time to get it out.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Hey you don't scare easily! That going to be a neat "little" truck! Can't wait to see More! With that High torque Truck engine, it will be a nice Hot Rod.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Hey thanks Lanny. I agree and also think it's going to be a neat little truck. We'll see. Hopefully going to pull the cab, motor/trans, front crossmember, and rear end out of the truck this weekend and attempt to get the 79 stuff I have installed. With any luck be putting it back together this weekend too. We'll see. Usually have these big plans and only get half of what I wanted to get done finished. "My brain tells me it should take a certain amount of time but my body just doesn't cooperate and keep up with the schedule".

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Little update.
Got busy today. Got the motor, transmission, rear-end, and front suspension removed. Got the new 14 bolt full floater installed. Hopefully tomorrow is as productive. Wanting to get the donor front suspension out of the 79 donor and installed in Homer. Once that's done,,,,, we'll see????? Here are todays pics

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Little more done today.
Got the 79 donor front suspension including crossmember removed from donor and installed in Homer. Don't sound like a ton of work, but believe me wrestling that 1 ton stuff out from under one truck and under another is a BEECH. Gotter Dunn. Moved over to the concrete pad so I can re-install the motor trans (327/turbo 400) tomorrow. Might even get it fired up and make some smoke. Anyhow, progress is progress. As you can tell I am building a truck, not painting a truck.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Thanks Flashed.
Got to keep going or I will quit working on it. Hate when that happens. I got a 67 Nova drag car about 90% complete. Don't have the urge to work on it. Will again someday. Hopefully. Right now I am trying to focus on Homer.
