Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...

Hey you all. This is a poll thread to see if there`s enough interest to start a new forum for these trucks.I`m seeing a lot of cool trucks and lots of interest. The problem is this is going nowhere towards getting a forum.Take all your trucks and post separate threads about them in the year appropriate forums. They are welcome there. At this point that is the only place for them. It`s all trucks in those years. If we see enough threads on larger trucks in all those forums it will show a separate forum is called for.Prolly just start out as all years combined and if it grows they can split off by years.Let`s make this happen. We all like the l`il pickumups, but let`s get these big,uns on the board...k?

I have just been using this thread as my "big truck forum"' I like 'em all, but I don't stray much from the 60-66 forum, so I would probably never see the others...

Tim has a point. Make sure everyone votes here, but we might be better off posting owner pics and build topics in a new thread. One way or the other, just keep posting SOMEWHERE if we want to have a chance at a special area for these beauties. When I started this thread I said it would probably be best if we just had a little general sub-forum that included any year of heavy duty truck. Maybe the people with the authority will take notice??? Anyway, glad we are up to three pages now, keep posting and voting!

I hear what you`re saying,Jon.But,even with that logic (which is what most do,just go to their years forums),how many do you think go to the "Site Feedback" forum regularly? It`s amazing thiis thread has gotten the attention it has. But,it`s only here to be a poll to help considering putting a forum elsewhere.

So,he used his own name for his company, huh?
At first I thought,"Hey,cool".But,I`m over that.I think those trucks are dumb and worthless.I`m sure once you drove one for a short while you`d get tired of the novelty,as well as the rough ride, high cost of maintainance/repairs,etc.I just like form and function working together and that`s why I like trucks. Those have no function.I`d rather have a medium duty with a purpose for work.

Hey,sorry if that hurt your feelings and I`d like to offer my apology. That`s just my opinion, just as you have your`s.I disagree and can leave it at that.I love looking at them. But,I`ve driven them and will say I`d rather spend the day in a one ton that has no problem hauling street rods, boats, race cars,campers...They do have a limit use with cool factor. For my purposes I have to be more practical, that`s all.Heck,I even prefer a utility bed on my 3/4t-1t trucks because they are more functional than a pickup bed (for my uses).I feel the same about the new ones provided by the factories.I see them as decadence and for the fortunate few.Especially a 4wd.They are too high to 5th wheel and worthless off road. That`s "my" opinion. You don`t have to put a pickup bed on a medium duty for me to like it.

I also think one tons running medium-heavy duty wheels are dumb. So,we agree on something there, right?I just love trucks and have for years.I`ve never used them as an extension of my ego,to feel tougher, bigger, badder,or any of that.I just love a tough truck and trucks have always been an essential part of my life.I only say all this so folks know where I`m coming from, not compare myself to or put anyone down.If anyone reads my posts around the sight over the few years I`ve been here it should be obvious I just love trucks and can allow others to do what they do without it threatening what I do.But,I do have my opinions that effect what "I" do.

I don`t want to have a debate in this poll thread that I`d like to see result in a medium duty truck forum.I just felt after I made a comment that offended enough to bring out a post here that I should apologize and explain myself.I hope I accomplished that and hope we can carry on with the topic at hand.

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...

Thanks for your reply. sometimes I feel like I have to defend my creations, but I realize that not everybody likes or wants one of these things. For a lot of my buyers they are just big toys, something to cruise around and have fun in. I make my living building these things, so I build what sells the best. Some of them aren't very practical.....but it all depends on what a person wants to do with such a truck, (long as they pay cash, they can do whatever they want with them). It's not like I drive one as my everyday driver!
I think having a Medium Duty Forum is a great idea, I have been doing this work for several years and have never found much of anything on the net that focuses on that specific type truck.
Thanks again for your reply.

I like them... and the way I see it if there weren't a market for them then International wouldn't have built the CXT. I certainly like these better though.. any 4x4 versions out there?

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...

Specail-K So we should go to the appropriate year of the c-series we want to talk about. For instance, if I want to bump my gums about a 1967 chevy c-50 2 ton truck I should go to 67-72 chevrolet and gmc pickup message board. Once there I or someone can start a new thread possible: Heavy Chevys C series 40 50 60 and the like. Would that work, than we can gather there and see how it goes.

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...

Yeah, but not just a general thread.Just like any pickup thread,"Here`s my`67 C/50",or,"Saw this cool C/60 for sale",or,"Where can I find Medium Duty parts?",or,"Has anyone seen any Medium Duties built into pickups?",or,"Look what I did with my C/40 today"...you get the picture.
I see the poll is looking good.As far as I`m concerned the MDs are winning. If people don`t like it they are losing. You don`t vote you got no voice, like any poll or election.90.51% yays.

I have a medium blue 1/2t.I`ll go post it there. The interest has grow since this thread was started.Even some new members since then that have MDs.We`ve had thread before and not much response.I think more people are catching on to these brutes.I always wanted one, never had one. There was a member that had a short C/50 wrecker in NH tat would have traded for my C/30 wrecker. But,he got banned for repeated political post violations.some day...

the trucks look nice for sure it was just the kindoff talk like If you are the type of person who is happy taking a little 1/2 or 3/4 ton "baby" truck.......throwing away ten to fifteen thousand dollars trying to add enough parts to make it LOOK like a big truck.....perhaps you should visit a more suitable site......maybe www. sissytruck.com, or someplace like that.on the intro of the website that turned me off
i like the bigger trucks but cant drive them cause i dont have the vision required to be alowed to drive them even with glasses so the smaller trucks is my way out of this problem

The opening page on my website has a blanket statement covering all truck people. It is designed specifically to make my "Build Mission" clear....no lift kits, no jacked-up little trucks trying to look big. Nowhere do I attack any one person's work. I have been building these trucks for several years and have them in many states. Some folks pull their streetrods, advertise their business, tow their boats or just have fun riding around. If there was no practical use for this size truck, GM and Ford would not be selling the Kodiak 5500 & F650 pickups. My trucks are just an earlier, more affordable version of this type vehicle.
Perhaps I need to be a little more "thick skinned" regarding some folks remarks. I have found this forum to be one of the best overall for what I do, so I will just shut up for a while and listen.
