Re: 72 Suburban Build
Are you going to have to use an electric wiper motor? Do you have to eliminate anything to fit it in?

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Not sure. I saw someone on here put one in and talked about eliminating the wiper motor but when I talked to the guy at Scotts Hot Rods he said you don't have to remove anything so we'll see. I'll put pictures up when I do it.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Let me know how it goes. Justin over at Scotts knows his stuff. I would like to do one of these I just have not seen one on our trucks. I've seen it on other models.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Well I finally figured out how the heck to raise the floor on my suburban. I've been looking and looking through other builds but there isn't many drop member ed suburbans out there to get ideas from. Instead of doing a round rear fender I decided to make a couple frames per side and box it in with sheet metal. My dad flew out from California to help me with it. He's the one working on one of the fender frames. I'm going to move the filler next into the side of the tank so I can use the factory filler next location. I'll post more pics as it progresses.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
wow you took your entire wood floor out!! LOL. I was trying to keep my rear most part in so that I can build my raised over it and make a storage compartment out of it. Does that make any sense?
Truck is looking killer dude, keep it up.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Oh I am interested to see how you are going to do the filler neck for the fuel. I used my factory tank just mounted it on top of frame. I think the angle of the neck to the tank on my set up is going to be too sharp on my set up.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
I'm basically going to cut the stock filler tube down right after the taper. Then I'll make my own tube. We'll see if/how it works. In my head its going to work fine...but you know how that works. I jst need to make sure I have a good enough height difference to fill it. Otherwise I'll have to let the passenger side bags down whenever I fill up

Re: 72 Suburban Build
My radiator that was supposed to get to me in 5 days took 4 weeks and they didn't even send me everything I ordered. My master cylinder/booster setup that I was told would get here in 5-7 days when I ordered it on 5/31...still hasn't been shipped yet. My wiring kit for my accuair stuff that I ordered was never sent to me. I wanted to get all of the wiring and brake stuff done first before I put the motor in but these vendors and their BS shipping promises are killing me.

Almost done with rear! I'm very happy with how its turned out. I'm still trying to decide where to mount the valves for the air system.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
The shocks are the ones that Porterbuilt supplies with his drop member setups. I'll have to look at the box to give you a part number.

Re: 72 Suburban Build
I'm still trying to figure out what to do in the front. Do I make some funky angles to makethe stock back seat bolt up? Do I make it simple and then just get some bucket seats or something?

Re: 72 Suburban Build
Pretty productive day. I moved/added my filler tube to the side of the tank in an attempt to use the stock location. I cut all of the sheet metal for the floor and started welding it down. I used 16ga which should be plenty strong, however, it is a PITA to cut.
