Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
Hey Guys, These really do exist. I have seen everyone of them. The problem is the "executor of the estate" has been working with a couple different people that is trying to buy the entire estate not just the vehicles but everything. The trucks and cars is just a portion of the man's belongings. I'm sure Tony had good intentions when he posted this. He thought he was doing everybody a favor but in hind sight it was premature. Should these prospective buyers fall through I'm sure he will post info. Don't be hard on him as he wants a truck out of this lot himself and facing the same flustration. Thanks, Tom

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
NO, I'm wanting to buy 1 truck that I use to own 13 yrs ago, BUT Nothing is happening till some things are settled with the executor of the estate and others trying to buy the entire estate, I like how you put my name in CAPS. As soon as i hear something ill post it. like Tom put maybe i posted premature. Just shareing some info and as for the ones that think this is a scam, fake or I'm cherry picking. DONT look at the post nomore. Or you can be respectful like the others and when things are settled then I'll post the info. TONY

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
Seeing I stirred this thread back to life I do apologize for people doubting you. I never doubted you or what you posted but was curious as to what was happening with the trucks as I saw some Burbs in the pile and am interested in buying one of them if they go to auction.

Nothing to do with hating,, just being observant. Our post was that we were concerned that everyone, especially the original poster, was being strung along.

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
I do real estate, and in "estate" situations, (where there's been an owner's death), most state laws require that probate court & judges/lawyers etc, get involved, and it can take what seems like FOREVER to sort thru the issues, to be able to get to the point to be able to make a sale.
We always put in our land / houses property listings in these instances something like: "subject to probate court approval" which is a red flag to agents in the know that it could (probably will) be several MONTHS (occasionally it's years) before anything can happen as far as a closing of a sale. Ready, willing & able buyer(s) waiting to buy don't matter at all. The trucks are all personal property (not real property) but the more personal property that's involved in an estate, the longer it seems to take. My personal opinion: Let's give the original poster a break; I'm in favor of assuming this was legit, & not just a scam posting of some kind. He was probably really excited about the "find" (I know I would have been) & just wanted to share the good news. Now, everybody's just gotta be patient & wait it out. An advertised public auction probably would be the best way to dispose of all of the vehicles & parts, but a judge would have to make a decision & crack the gavel, to authorize just starting down that pathway. Probate judges & lawyers are NOT fast to decide anything, in my experience. Maybe it's something about their fees & the time involved, or something ............. but then, I'm sometimes pretty cyncial about a lot of things. |

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
Thanks for updating, Tony... given the situation, a long wait may be inevitable. People will just have to be patient (easier said than done). Good luck, I hope you are able to buy back your old truck.
And premature or not, thanks for your original post about this. It's incredibly interesting, even though I'm not after any of those trucks!

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
I havent heard anything back from them, but here it is. I warn you there prices in my opinion are crazy on most, and DO NOT buy anything online. Go look in person as lots are rusty, some are missing parts such as carberators, distributors, etc. Some are picture trucks, they look good in a pic or 50ft away, SORRY it took so long, I DID NOT buy any trucks. I did not cherry pick as someone stated. GOODLUCK www.cascadeclassiccars.com
PS: Make sure you look in person at these as they all have just sat around for yrs.

Re: Question about LOTS of trucks
I have also seen them in person and none of them are show trucks. The nicer trucks have been dolled up to look good but with a closer look many corners are cut (rusted out core supports, inner fenders, cab corners, aftermarket panels that don't fit, bondo and the list goes on). None of them are frame off restorations actually far from it. The lower priced trucks are very ruff some have major rust, 305's in place of 350's, some are missing carbs, and other parts that you will not see in pictures. I also encourage not to buy any without looking in person regardless what you see in a pic or are told. I also feel the prices are way off base. In my humble opinion the prices are double of the real market value. I'm no expert but I do buy atleast one 67-72 truck a week to part, flip or restore. Again look close before you buy. I also did not buy any. Although I did submit a offer on the whole collection and it was rejected. Just trying to pass on some helpful info to help avoid some very disappointed buyers. If someone is interested in one I would be more than happy to share what I know. I have up to 4-5 pics of each one. Thanks, Tom
