Re: MY Project GMC 1969
Cool build! Looks like you started with a nice truck, what did you do with your old fleet bed?

I'm sure you're build is being viewed daily by hundreds of us that are to shy to comment. Don't let that discourage the sharing of your build. It's turning out stunning.

Don't get mad, I'm watching but I've been doing a lot of doctors appointments and can't reply. I'm looking forward to see how it pops in the sun after the polishing. Keep posting please. I'll be in the hospital for a while and this site will be one of my sources of entertainment.

Re: MY Project GMC 1969
Excellent job and amazing work! I don't search this particular forum branch very much (usually Blazer section), but for some reason I decided to do a site wide "new post" search. What a great story and write up. I remember a few years ago stumbling once again on one of your other threads, and I was equally impressed.
One thing that really gets me is the amazing condition on some of these vehicle at this age. Your area of the world must really preserve these trucks so well. Keep it up! Love the fact you can keep restoring these so well. What, if any, are your plans for the motor/drivetrain? Didn't see a lot, but I'm guessing equally as good.

I agree with everyone else. It's absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't fond of the stepside idea at first. BUT....I was wrong, I love It!!!!

Re: MY Project GMC 1969
Yes, that's what I'm looking for. Cheerleading is important and your opinion interests me. I have changed a lot in the truck I removed all the old wires with new ones, everything is new and original it 's expensive but extremely pleasing. The original machine and I will shoot everything at the end, I am now in the last stage.

Re: MY Project GMC 1969
Is that a Remote Solenoid for the starter? I had to put one on my '71 GMC Jimmy, because with the Heddman hedders I would have to pull off the passenger side header pipes just to get at the starter. Until I wrapped the headers, the heat was burning the conventional Bendix-type solenoid. Now it runs cool, and I have no starter problems.
I live in Tucson AZ, in the desert. Probably doesn't get as hot here as your area, but it's hot enough in the summer. I like the heat: all the tourists are long gone. Your project is pure art. In art school they would call it ''Additive Sculpture.'' [As opposed to ''Subtractive Sculpture'' where the artist (like Michelangelo) takes a chisel to a block of marble and removes all the pieces that aren't representative of 'David'.] Keep it up.
