Re: '60-'66 Body On A '73-'87 Frame
Not sure if this was mentioned, but the 73-91 Suburban Frame is a much better fit, it does not kick up under the cab...and wheelbase is close to our longbox ....they even make a kit to use this chassis, EZ chassis swaps in Minnesota makes it. I am surprised there is not more discussion on this.

Re: '60-'66 Body On A '73-'87 Frame
Here's a video that does a good comparison between the 67-72 and the 73+. Remember, the frame of the 67-72 are very similar to the 63-66.

Re: '60-'66 Body On A '73-'87 Frame
I can tell you are pretty passionate about this topic, may I ask why it bothers you so much? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your truck have an earlier frame swapped in?
If I desired to own a 4x4 60-66 this is likely the route I would take. If I had a truck with a damaged frame and the only replacement I could find was a later model, I possibly would try this route was well. The person you are mocking has a good looking truck. From the pictures he provided the work appears well done. I don't understand the disgruntlement in how others choose to build their trucks. |
