All of the holes get a "plug" to keep the material out of the area. I am not a pic guy, but am trying with this build. it's hard to get focused on work and then remember where I laid my phone, get a pic and the back to......SQUIRELL!

The key is in the mask and the metal wire to get clean lines. We normally pull tailgates off the trucks and shoot them separate, but I'm leaving this one on and trying to pull off a "suit up once and shoot it" job.

Welcome over to here! Ill look you up on the next In and Out burger run. A few Saturday's a year ill grab a couple friends, leave at 7am and hit Redding In and Out on Hill Top by noon. Its the closest one to Eugene.
The owner of our Dealership is very active in our community with the car scene and loves classics. I run the body shop and have a couple technicians that like to put in a couple hours extra most days to meet bonus which allows me (the guy with the key) to stay and tinker on my own stuff. Unfortunately I run out of small stuff (mini bikes, old gas cans etc) and have moved into stuff with tires.

My bolt in notch didn't show up as I was hoping when the bed was loose and the boards off so at lunch I called in an order at the Steel shop. Picked up some 1/4 plate stock to box the frame and a 6" pipe to hack up and build a notch. Fired off the hot wrench and had at it after work. Roughed in the notch before dinner and will order a pizza for lunch tomorrow so I have enough cardboard to mock up the box plates. Should be all welded up , finished and painted by dinner tomorrow. Fitting all the bed boards and the million nuts and bolts Friday night. Hoping to get the first stage of the suspension done this weekend....dropped spindles, blocks, cut a coil etc and do some smokey burnouts. Air system will come a little slower and piece by piece in the eves and weekends so we can still drive it . Dual master came in with adjustable prop valve. I was going to toss that in this weekend and build some lines, but chose to order a complete prefab kit from inline tube to see what a line kit is like. I've always built them, but it takes time and I don't have many nice weekends left here in the NW so taking the dogs out as much as I can lately.

Finished plating the frame, grinding , painting and re squared the bed to the cab. What a pain in the A! 66 1/4" bolts and my arm is sore. I once saw a post "8 hours later the bed is together" and I thought no way, now I know he wasn't kidding. Next will be the 2"blocks, 2 1/2" spindles, cut 1 coil all the way around, dual master, disc front, disc rear, adjustable pan hard and shock relocation front and rear then wait for the bags. I'm going to tuck the tank, compressor, manifold etc to get ready, save some coin and hopefully get some tubular pocket lowers and an air management system.

Drilled and installed the rest of the stainless carraige bolts around the wheel tubs tonight. Ran the PO's speaker wires through grommets in the A pilar vs. Around the door gasket and into the cab.

Need to figure out a better locking system, the oe plunger lost its keeper and spring and I'm missing some parts (I think they fell through the drain slot in the door ). Searching for "power locks" "ele,ctric locks" and looks like a dead end. The heaviest actuator I can find is 12 lb and the handle / latch seems a little heavier. Anyone install power remote locks and have some pictures?

Thanks LowElco. I can't believe how many there are. Chevy had to set a record with the number of fastners used in a bed when they engineered this.

Today I sourced an extra wiper knob and escution. My delay wiper system arrived and at lunch I installed it. The system literally falls into place in 3 minutes. I shoved the potentiometer through the O.E. choke hole next to the wiper switch and secured it with the provided nut. I enlarged the ID slightly of the extra escution and pressed it onto the retaing nut. Slid the wiper knob on and tightened it down. Hooked up a couple wires, secured the ground ( the longest part of he install) and the system works like a charm and fills the hole that the choke used to occupy. Pics tomorrow along with another trick or treat.

Here's the extra wiper switch knob controlling the delay system and the Pontiac vac gauge with the old 60s sun tach. I need to build a small visor for the tach as you can see behind the face at an angle

It won't be a full time DD for her, the heated seats in her 2007 4x4 (but lowered 3" hehe) keep her comfy. I still want her to have the creature comforts like the intermittent wipers, squirt, heat, starts and runs every time etc.

I didn't get much done on it in the last few days. A dog run plastic coated cable, a lock cable for my vintage fuel can, some speaker wire stuff. We have been busy at lunch and after work doing a motor swap, cab, bed, front end swap with repaint on my buddy's 76. Tonight I tackled the later cluster tach mod with volt meter instead of the old Ohm meter swap. 1st try and success!

We started on it 2 weeks ago, he had the 1st week off for vacation and spent it at work disassembling , prepping and reinstalling stuff as another buddy and I painted everything. 454, TH400, 3:88 , 37's, 60's etc with new interior, wiring, dash, exhaust, motor swap and a ton of little tid bits. It's been like 2 guys Overhaulin in 2 weeks! Cool thing is he bought it new in 1976 at the dealrship we both used to work for. It was a 2x, 350 truck and hass evolved into his mud, snow and sand dune toy.

Sprung a leak in the 50 Burb's radiator yesterday on my way to work. I had found it in a pile of parts in the back of the Burb when I purchased it a couple years ago. I painted it black, tossed it in , ran 2 motors with it before swapping in the built 250 last December. Since then it has clocked 26,000 miles on it. Not bad for a used Chevy radiator!

Good news is I get to haul it in to the Radiator shop in another Chevy! looks like the wife's shop truck , is going to be my shop truck a little longer hehehe
