Re: Rat Rod 73-87's
Mooseknuckles. These may be. But I still have a picture in my mind of a 73-87 cab being done right and making a Rat Truck. On an old frame with Straight axle and an early grille. maybe even a tractor grille on it.
The 73-87 cabs are common for parts and close up solid. You could channel it around the frame and chop the top. Just looking for more pictures to inspire. Thanks |

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's
Yep, Any Pictures? I Believe this site is much better than H A M B This is not all about being cool. But seems like a lot of people here are Builders. They think outside of what everyone does. Easier to work with a 73-87 "square"
that is what makes it cool and great to start with a Great basic cab. A rat rod is a style of hot rod or custom car/truck that, in most cases, imitates (or exaggerates) the early hot rods of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. It is not to be confused with the somewhat closely related "traditional" hot rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration of a hot rod from the same era. Most rat rods appear "unfinished" (whether they actually are or not), with just the bare essentials to be driven. The rat rod is the visualization of the idea of function over form. Rat rods are meant to be driven, not shown off. Sometimes the customization will include using spare parts, or parts from another car/truck altogether. Texas>>>> Great attention in that Detail job you did in your Build Thread. Easy to see that truck is your Baby... Congrats !! |

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's
I shouldn't toy with you guys thats just a photoshop of my truck. I do plan on bagging the front as soon as it gets warm enough to work in the garage (I do have all the stuff why not).

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's
Now these are pretty ratty to me. Majority of these trucks look like unfinished hot rods to me. :/ Nothing against them, but if you're going with rats, go with rats, if you go with a rod, get after it. To me vehicles left in between look a little odd to me. Keep on rollin though.

There are a lot of kool c10's in here! could a spartan K10 count as a rat rod? It's flat black kinda, and it's pretty rough looking. Thinking about posting some pics lol.
