Re: My truck
This whole thread is awesome! Nice trucks, nice "Nova'. I was wondering if General Motors sold any other car makes down in Argentina like Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, Buicks, or Cadillacs? I love seeing these foreign market GM cars and trucks...its like a whole new world of stuff to look at. Thanks for the pictures!

Re: My truck
I noticed the step beds are like the 55 to 57 type beds...the tail lights on the 67 to 72 trucks are 62 to 66. The tail gate I have never seen. Very cool trucks down there.

the only brand GM sold in Argentina was CHEVROLET. oh and the OPEL K-180 that was based on the opel kadette from Germany. the Argentinian engineers took a 6-cylinder engine, cut 2 cylinders and voila! you have a 4-cylinder chevrolet block!!!! here are some pictures of the K-180's and more of my 1978 chevy nova

Re: My truck
Very very cool thread! I know it's old but I just found it through a link from another thread.
Thanks GMCBsAs and ChevyC10Argentina! Are you guys still with us? One thing I noticed that I haven't seen mentioned is the heater controls on your trucks. They look like 3 individual knobs. Are they push/pull or turn type? Like those Bowtie topped bolts on the valve cover, ChevyC10Argentina! Cool!

Re: My truck
So the company that made them was GMC Argentina, but they were all Chevrolets?? Also, on average, what does one cost down there?
Nice trucks and very interesting photo album of your normal(our wierd) trucks!

until 1978 when GM abandoned Argentina they were all Chevrolet plus Opel K180 (I posted some pictures above) as a resume, in 1978 GM Argentina had for sell: C10 shortbed fleetside pickup. (230" and 250" six-in-line) 4 door opel K180 (a 4 cylinder engine based on the 6 in line) Chevy Nova 4 door Super and Malibu models (Malibu was the full model) with 230" and 250" Chevy Nova coupe SS, exactly like mine with 250" here is a post of the 1978 coupe similar to mine (all original) http://www.arcar.com.ar/autosantiguo...spx?qAuto=7011 but this one has an automatic gear, only 25 built! the cost depends on the conditions of the vehicle. you can buy rotten chevys for 1 or 2 thousand dollars (i mean almost destroyed with no engine...) a chevrolet in a usable condition (re-painted) goes from 5 thousand dls and up. a nova coupe like mine its the most wanted model. recently a guy offered me 20.000 dollars... and i said no! lots of people insulted me telling that i'm crazy... and yes... I AM!!! a pick-up its around the same prices, 5 thousand and up. but mines are priceless! greetings from argentina
