Might I suggest running something like the Megasquirt computer ? The biggest advantage is that it can be programmed on the fly with a laptop. No chip burning needed. Cost is VERY reasonable. It will work with your distributor and control timing as well.
Not to say the stock GM computer can't be made to work, you will just have a much easier time tuning the Megasquirt.

I Have megasquirt I and II that i was going to use on my 5.3 swaps for other projects, but i may use it for this one. I'm so deep into stock( time and money wise) so i'll probably stay the course on his truck.

He's already found girls and....... we all know how that goes. Worst that could happen is i have another project of my ownlol

Very nice i liked the black engine bay paint i starting to lean toward it cuz i am going to paint mine in my project but was told to paint it to the actual body color instead of black. Keep it coming

ok so im motivated (got a 5.3l/4l60e combo) for his truck again so i will have updates coming soon. the blazer tank doesnt work well with bagged trucks so im going to get a saddle tank. pics soon

im 17 and i finnished my project with my dad recently and im finnaly driving it. worked on it for about 3 years and got about a month left to drive to school... well worth the work/time.. ur lil brother will love it. mwooten
