Re: my build
thanks Rokcrln i have been watching your build and all the other stuff you have done and i love all of it.
ok so ive been wanting to say this for a long time and now i can...the brake lines are DONE..i think and we got the radio screw in and mounted. i think it looks pretty good and we have to cut the lower supports on the radatior support out because there for a 3 core and we have a 4core..so thats gonna take up acouple of days trying to get that to fit. and the headers and gauge cluster are on the way tomorrow the striker plates will be sandblasted and painted red so we can get the doors on and lined up. |

Re: my build
welp today we managed to put the front bumper on and the doors but it got dark before we could get them lined up perfect.
we rolled it outside and about half the neiborhood was over here askin questions about it. and we had to order new fuel lines because we was putting the old ones on and saw a few holes. getting the dynamat tomorrow and laying that and putting the gas tank in and the seats in and set up right. Re: my build
today we cut the lower radatior mounts on and found some 4 core radatior mounts from the other trucks that have been built in that garage.
then we welded them on there and slapped the radatior in. and we got the insulator but its not down yet we also decided on getting a sliding rear window..it looks pretty nice even tho we havent put it in yet. and we got the fuel lines today tomorrow the insulator and carped get down and gas tank put in then fuel lines ran and maybe if the headers get here we can start er up. so hows it lookin? |

Re: my build
man that was a longg day and we dident get that much done
we kicked the honda out of the garage for a couple months or until we get it done and closed the garage door. then we moved somethings around and built a table to go in there and sit all of out parts on. Then we made a trip to our parts man and got somemore stuff We get home and go to work putting the weatherstripping on the back window then tried to put the window in...ok that dident work..we ended up taking it out and putting it in 6 or 7 times OK now were kinda agrivated, so we put the ac control back in and the cigerette lighter. that was easy then we cut and fit the insulator and put it down...which was also easy and here she is at the end of the day by now were tired of working on the interior so we head down to the shop and do some good ole body work on the bed . tomorrow we WILL get the rear glass in and the carpet and whatever elese needs to be put in. Re: my build
Sure is looking good! If it were me I would put the bumper on last so you don't scratch the front bottom edge of the fenders. Then tape the bottom of the fender and re-install the bumper to fit the body not the other way around! This is how I do mine and it is alot easier.

Re: my build
That is awsome. It's nice to see a father and son spending quality time together like that.
You have no idea how much all of this will mean to you when you get to be my age and look back. You mentioned being worried about other kids keying it or something and that would suck. But nobody can ever take away what you and your dad are building together. It's bigger than any truck could ever be. |

Re: my build
thanks guys
i would say we have about 11-12,000 in it and were about done spending exept for the grill and exaust. When I get the money i will lower it somemore and put some touque thrust wheels on it. anyways...dident get much done yesterday or today besides put the evaporaor condincer in and reciver drier. and we started putting the bed together when we realized that we have been doin bodywork on the wrong bedside. we was working on the one that had the bondo in the back post where the tailgate latches. so the bodywork started over on the other one that was down there. it will be in primer by wensday and the bed put together and ready for blockin. The gauge cluster and headers should be here tomorrow. and we had a one peaice driveshaft made. Last edited by clemson71guy; 12-19-2007 at 12:30 PM. |

Re: my build
well its gettin down to the line and were still wayy away from being done
Today we went and rode around to some race and performance shops and picked up a few things like chrome fuel lines that hook up to the carburator. chrome throttle cable bracket. braided radatior hoses. some wire looms to go down the frame. and we picked up the one peice driveshaft we had made, which makes the old one look like a tooth pick. then i messed around with the gauges and got the wires down to a ground and a hot wire and the lights work. woo hoo my first wiring job tomorrow the gauges will be in, headers might be here and get the radatior hoses in.. fill er up with oil...find a old battery and fire her up maybe??
