Mike, that turned out even better than I was imagining, congrats on getting it finished. I'm definitely drooling, can't wait to see it all cleaned up.

A few updated shots. I still have more I want to do. I have a few things I want to do to the engine and interior but at least I'm cruising. I took it to a car show and she ran good out on the interstate.

Re: The GSFMech Build

The lizard skin is great, it made a big difference. It's much quieter and most of all you can't feel ANY engine heat I mean it stopped it dead. I'm anxious to get my AC charged back up and test it out. That's still on my "to do" list.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

That truck looks great cruising down the road. I think that the mono tone paint job in that blue looks great. Much better than it would if it had the white contrasting paint. Very nice truck.

Re: The GSFMech Build

Great Truck, love the color.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but what are the size tires/wheels that you are using?

Do you have any issues of tire rub with your 4/6 drop? I love the look of your drop, but was curious of the turning radius.

Thanks,
Adam

Mike, I hope you got around to getting that A/C charged for this weekend. I can't wait to see your truck, now that it's fully assembled.

Re: The GSFMech Build

Sorry I have not been on in a while, thanks for all the compliments.

aboyer- I have 275-60-15's on the rear with 8" rims and 245-60-15's on the front with 7" rims. I have no tire rub at all, no complaints. I've had it lowered since 2001.

72SHORTBED 72- I'm not sure what you are asking but I think you are talking about the tailgate trim? It is a stock piece that came on the higher trim level trucks, it has screws that hold it on and covers the letters stamped in the tailgate.

Steven, I have that AC blowing cold and have since installed a Performer RPM intake, new valve covers and air breather identical to the ones I had and I finally shelved my points even though I didn't really want to and went with a pertronix ignition.

Thanks again everyone.

Re: The GSFMech Build

Well I have not added anything to this build in a really long time and I have made many changes. I’ll try and catch it up, I should have done this a long time ago. I ran into so many members at Goodguys in Texas and no one knew my truck from the board…. It had been that long. Anyway here are a few shots when I redid my exhaust. The old system drug on everything you passed over so I fabricated a new system to tuck it up higher. My flash went out in the camera so please excuse the dark pics. I bought a new set of Hooker 2" long tube headers for a Chevelle to try and get some ground clearance and it looks like I picked up about 2 to 3". Plus I got rid of the ugly exhaust pipes hanging out underneath. You can see the new tubular crossmember I built plus the holes in the center crossmember for the pipes in these shots.

I had just started building the exhaust system here so it was only tacked together.
