No power outages, just some nasty weather for awhile. Did hit a pretty severe snow storm returning from the NY run on Sunday though, got lucky and only had 20 miles left to be home when we ran into it. Total white out on the interstate, pulling an 18ft trailer...whohoo! Frames done...one step closer to Tenn. |

I've been following your build thread (detours and all) and like what I'm seeing. Keep up the good work and hope you keep dodging them ice/snow bullets

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners
Welcome to the site from Big Sandy, West Tennessee. I have been to Goose Creek several times during my 30+ years of truck driving. I would hate to have to chose between the grand canyon and the meet but know which I would choose. (the meet of course) Hope to see you in July.

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners
Easy choice, the Grand Canyon will be there next year, a local meet-n-greet chuck full of 1st gens won't.

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners
The Grand Canyon trip is pretty much paid for and not by me, Should know more in a day or two. Just like everyone else on here I have some things to do before the trip, no major problems in the reliability area just cosmetic.
Heck I will just load up the tool box(duct tape, bailing wire electrical tape and some nylon tie straps) check the fluid levels and go! But I am thinking maybe I should get some good cell phone #'s and someone lined up from home to come rescue me if the need arises. |

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners
I voted number 1, can you imagine that? I've already talked to my friend David (cook at last years event) and he's in. So all that's left to do is call the port a john place and the rest we'll handle in house. If you want to see what's in store click on the photobucket link at the bottom of my siggy. When it opens look on left side near top under albums and click on board meet 2008. Then at top right click on slide show and enjoy. I will contact the host motel and get us a group rate if needed after this poll. Gas in Paris Tn. was $1.249 today and hopefully it will stay below $2.00 this year. So make plans and let's make this a meet to remember. Here is some of the folks that showed up last year.

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners
OK guys listen up. I have edited my 1st post in announcing this meet as follows. July 17, 18, 19, 2009. It will be a 3 day meet but come when you can and leave when you need to. More changes to come as we get closer to the date but know this you won't leave disappointed. Stay tuned......
