Re: Just a Teaser...New Paint

Yea the gas lid door matches perfect in the real world....LOL I bought the lights from ebay, they are for the newer style so I had to do some fab work to make them fit.

Re: Just a Teaser...New Paint

Now somebody needs to come up with a decent looking replacement outside door handle. That is the only thing left that doesn't look great on it.

Anybody tried to retrofit the 67 to 72 door handles onto a square?

Did it on my 82 Blazer that I sold. It's is not a bolt on by any means. It required machining the backside, welding, drilling, etc.

Sorry to hijack but do you have any pics or details of what you did to retrofit the door handles ? I have a spare set of 67 doors and an extra set of 67-72 handles to experiment with and I need to put a new door on the driver side of my 78 so this is the right time to experiment.

I was a machinist and welder for the air force for 13 years so I can do pretty much anything metal working wise.

Re: Just a Teaser...New Paint

I will have to take a close up pick of my handles tonight... we sanded them in one direction so they would look brushed and then we over reduced the stripe color so it was transparent and sprayed over them, it looks killer!

Re: Just a Teaser...New Paint

the markers are from LMC i think, I traded my buddy that wanted my tinted ones, interior is clean stock tan so it is going to stay for now, I am getting the dash wrapped in tan suade though. I want to get the front down about 2 more inches so it has a little rake.

Can you post some suspension pictures for me please. What bag parts did you use. How big is Cnotch? Did you leave the rear floor stock?
