Re: My 64 build
Good score on all those parts. Sorry to hear about the big D. I know the feeling. Things work out for the best though.
Let me know if you need any other parts. I may have some and I'm not that far west of you. Out on Lake Fork

Re: My 64 build
That is great ruff. I will definitely keep you in mind for parts. My wife has been real calm lately and the "D" word has not been mentioned again so maybe things will work out in the coming days/weeks/months/years.
On a more positive note........I did get my Comp Cams Big Mutha Thumpr cam & lifters in today. I cannot wait to get it in and hear it run. Should be a ground pounder i'm hoping. Last edited by CVA59; 02-28-2011 at 05:38 PM. |

Re: My 64 build
That's good to hear about the D word not coming up. I tell you me and the wife went through that about 6 times. And it really sucks and bums you out. But just keep at it.

Re: My 64 build
Hey guys, it's been awhile since i made any significant progress on my truck. Here is my engine as of yesterday. Finally got it installed and bolted down. Now it is all the little pieces that i have to start attaching. I guess some progress is better than none, LOL.

Re: My 64 build
Hey Zack, great to see someone is making progress here in East Texas! I have been so swamped with work and baseball with 2 boys, I have not had any serious truck time. I apologize for not getting with you yet...Seems like if I might have time something around here something else goes wrong...
I am still interested in the rear end if you still have it. The rain has messed up my plans already this week and it is only Monday. Engine looks good!

Re: My 64 build
It is slow progress but a little is better than none i guess, LOL. It is the Edlebrock XC-8. It is a sweet intake. I am running 2 Holley 450's w/ mechanical secondaries. I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that it all tunes out ok.

Re: My 64 build
Ya thats what i thought the cross ram was......thats the same one I am running on my 383 stroker. I haven't ran mine on the street yet but it was on the dyno right after i built it and it ran great.....both the engine shop and the dyno guy had no idea how it would pan out because no one runs them anymore around here.In the end it hit 500 HP and 480 ft pounds of torque so it's all good...keep up the good work your doing a wicked job.

Re: My 64 build
Thanks man....
The pro street push is on for me right now....I got to get that thing painted and back together....My long box should be in paint for next week ( fingers crossed )....I did manage to almost finish the SBBW build before my buddy claimed it and moved it to his house....and i managed to buy 3 more trucks....My Friends are planning a truck intervention..lol...but hey almost all of them are build trucks now...So many trucks to save and build and so little money and time to do it.....Hey didn't you have a thread or were going to make a thread about dropping a jag rear end into a truck ?....But you did manage to get me to buy a built S10 rear end for one of the short boxes I plan on building real soon with a rat rod look

Re: My 64 build
That is awesome on the S10 rear. It worked out perfectly on my truck. Dad's is at the blaster this week. When it gets back i will post up some pics for the Jag rear end conversion. I decided to get my courage up yesterday and price my paint. For the PPG Base and Clear i am looking at a smooth 1,000.00. I guess it has just been too long since i priced paint. I am sure to some a grand is cheap, for me it is really high. Time to start hoarding my pennies, LOL

Re: My 64 build
Ok, here is my latest progress. I borrowed my dad's bed just to see how my tire clearance is shaping up. This is also a pic of the S10 rear and how it turned out.
This is dad's truck below. We have been making a ton of progress on his lately. I am planning to get his truck caught up to where i am on my mine. We may get his done before mine is, LOL. Still have to paint his engine and do some touch up on the frame. I will post some pics of the narrowed jag rear end when we get a few parts back from the machine shop next week.
