Re: Project "5th try"
Depends on what I end up doing for an air cleaner. As is or polished.

Re: Project "5th try"
Finished disassembling the motor. Everything looks good. Going to try and drop it off at the machine shop somtime next week. Have him hot tank it and check it out. I'd like to be able to just hone it and rering and bearing it. I'll just have to wait for the health report.

Re: Project "5th try"
Dropped the block and heads off at o6r1man's house. He's going to take them to the machine shop for me this week. I live a town over and could never make it to Parsons when the machine shop would be open. Befor anyone asks, no, that's not a dead hooker in my trunk.... Block and heads fit right into the trunk of my dd ford fusion.

Re: Project "5th try"
not much for updates. I found a core support and it should be on the way shortly. Also picked up (3) stainless hub caps. It's hot out there. Going to try and collect the rest of the parts I need over the summer. Doubt they're be much progress the next month or so.

Re: Project "5th try"
I think I stole these. Only paid $35 for all three. They're not perfect, but they'll work for my junk. Also scored a set of NOS GMC painted 67/68 caps off of ebay. Undecided if they will get resold at the moment. I should prob hang on to them.

Re: Project "5th try"
just won this set of craftsman hammer and dollys. $80 shipped compared to the Martin set from Eastwood for almost $250. They look identical to me. Hell they are right next to each other in the 2010 sears catalog and priced the same. Hopefully I can manage to complete the work on the firewall so I can put some paint down.

Re: Project "5th try"
Yeah I'm happy with them. Now to find a 4th. That might take me some time.

I hate spending money on tools, but at the same time I hate buying cheap stuff that I might have to buy again. So I'll ususally try to find a deal on somthing quality. Plus if you buy used at a good price you can usually resell it for close to what it cost you.

Re: Project "5th try"
I should change the name of my build to "no progress, the never ending build" lol.
I haven't done anything to it, just be busy with other things. I received my new to me core support. Rust free Cali metal shipped via greyhound. Wow was that a sketchy place. I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've stepped foot into a grayhound station. Lets just say the employees and the customers were interesting... I'm planning on making a trip to Longview, Texas this weekend. Going to pick up a 66 BBW cab that I didn't need. Going to try and find a runing truck along the way. I'll post some pics up when I get back.

Re: Project "5th try"
That's a hell of a deal on that hammer/dolly set. The slapping spoon really comes in handy.

Re: Project "5th try"
I wish I could say there was. I just haven't had the time or motovation to do get anything done here lately. I've been messing with my other truck when I do have time. Hopefully I'll have some time this comming weekend to get the other truck running right and then I can get back onto this one time permiting. The "other" truck is a 72 big block highlander that will mostly be for sale once I get it sorted. My project fund for this truck is currently empty......

I doubt it will sell, but I'm not going to loose my ass and give it away. If not it will sit in the garage till I do have the time to make some progress. If it does sell. No more big projects for me. I just don't have the time.
