Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Coming in extremely late on this. I remember you mentioning building a Chevelle but I haven't been on here much to catch it. Looks good so far. Sucks about the roof. Personally, I was hoping you went with the same orange as the truck but the blue is still very nice. Are you posting over on Chevelles too? I've got plans for my 65 once I get back from the "sand pit". Nothing major in the immediate future but a wheel and suspension upgrade. Anyways, looking forward to where this takes you. If you get a chance, search for a build thread by TommyComfort on either Pro-touring or Chevelles. His is one of my favorites.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

It's been awhile since I last posted anything. Here were I'm at now.

I just finished going through the rear diff, new seals, bearing, posi and a set of 3:73 gears. New tubular rear control arms.

We then rode Tim's Honda 100 out to Clovis to pick it, he drove the car back and I rode his bike. Bobbie was pissed, she grabbed the keys and told Tim your not driving this car until your sixteen.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

I must have road the bus by myself to pic it up, and you guys road the bike there cause I'm sure I remember you killed the bike at the stoplight by letting out the clutch to fast, and wasn't it a yamaha 100?

It was a Honda CB 100. Tim had a Yamaha RD 250 a few years later.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Went to the body shop today for some updates on the progress. The new roof on now, it looks good and it's all lined up. The fire wall has been smoothed out. We did find some rust in the lower rear fenders, patch panels are on there way.
