Re: 68 workhorse
todays updates. engine. auto crossmember and tranny are in. bolted in but not fully tightend. i lost the bolts that connect the tranny mount and tranny to the crossmber and some of the bolts to the engine mounts =]
i now need to find a TH400 kick down switch and linkage. i need to check if my automatic starter is still good, i also need to check my steering columns for an automatic one. i'll also need to have the driveshaft shortened a lil bit or replace it. after that its time to put the doghouse and wiring back together. i really want to drive it again =) anyone want to buy my BB mounts to help me keep going lol.

Re: 68 workhorse
Good progress! Surprised those mounts haven't sold....but there have been a lot on here recently so I guess the main guys that were looking bought them. Ebay might be a good idea...

Re: 68 workhorse
no one answered my column q.
ive got a nicer grill to add to my truck. i wanted the year correct linkage but since its getting difficult for me to find it at a lowish price im most likely going after market. ECE has one for about $45 and lokars shipped to my house is $60. i took a decent tailgate for my 68. i still have to get my driveline shortend like 4 inches. wonder if i can go one piece instead? the shops charge around $100 to shorten my 2 piece.

Re: 68 workhorse
went to turlock swap and met krazyray. also talked to c10king and kevs classics.
i bought a compressor that works really great for dirt cheap and i got the linkage i needed for the truck.

Re: 68 workhorse
it sure is! i just start concocting ways of achieving more cash and tools haha.
Pinky: "Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?" The Brain: "The same thing we do every night, Pinky—try to take over the world!" cept istead of trying to take over the world im trying to make the cash lol
