here is my beast before I tore it apart to restore. I took my buddy Robs scout up to Hollister hills every once in a while. I really miss my truck, someday it will be back on the road. :p
Edit : this is the 100th post for this thread. :p do I get a prize?

Here's what my latest aquisition (sp?) did on its way back from New Jersey.
The thing didn't even swayed like the one on the dolly does when hauling. It must be the GMC thing huh?

I regularly use my truck to haul all sorts of rubbish to our local dump, except today when I went I was told that as of 1st July, I have to get a permit from the local council, in advance and I can only make one trip a month. My wife and I are in the middle of renovating our house and landscaping our garden, I can make two or three trips some days when we've been really busy. The crazy thing is I can put the same rubbish in a car and make five trips and that's OK, I just can't take it in a truck or van or large trailer.(It's like having a dog and barking yourself!)
The three reasons they have said is to 1: reduce congestion (duh 5 trips vs 1 trip) 2: encourage recycling, well my local authority does not collect my recycling so I take it to the recycling area at the dump... and 3: STOP TRADE WASTE BEING DUMPED. this is obviously the biggy as they want to make construction companies, shops etc to pay to tip their waste. The lunatics have well and truly taken over the asylum! Vent over, breathe deeply..in with anger..out with calm 2.3.4!

This is how my '71 longbed looked on my way back from Teeitup's place in KS, in the bed I had a big block mated to a tranny, 2 front suspension clips from 3/4 ton trucks and a set of 'burb doors and at the same time it was pulling my blazer which by the way was stuffed to the top, I don't think that another box would've had fit in there.

Actually, I was in the final stage of replacing all the wood on that end. I have already done all the wood on the front and back of the house. I will start on the other end in the fall. It sure is hard to find time to work on the trucks.

I've manage to keep my truck pretty clean by always towing. I ahve a utility trailer the junk that can scratch goes in, and I've towed quite a few things with a tow bar etc.
Here's the rig towing of my sons VW's.

I just went and got about 4000 lbs of sand to go under mine and my brother's swimming pools. $20 would have got 3 tons, but I did not want to push it.

I want to ride in it all the time.
Here it is before it was lowered and 17 inch wheels installed. The only problem is that it hates to wait while I am riding the Harley.

If I wanted a work truck it would be a full size 3/4 ton. not 1/2 to shortbed step side. this is a play truck.. a toy. I dont use it to haul heavy stuff... but it hauls ass just fine.
