I was thinking about it today. when i took the intake mani off the 6.0, there was quite a bit of rust on all the valves. also the front accessory's were cracked and bent, this motor was in a wrecked truck. I asked around about the rust and the answer I got from every one, was that it would be fine. (not blaming those people) I bet that when the wreck happened, the radiator popped and filled the intake with coolant. if there was a hard enough impact to break the accessory's, there would be enough impact to knock the intake pipe off and fill it with water. or the truck was on fire and a fire hose was used. IDK but there was tones of rust, it was flaking off. that would explain the bent rod.

That sucks to hear about the engine, hopefully they'll stand behind there word. A 12v swap would be cool, but you already have it set up for a 6.0 so why not just take this one out and either rebuild it or get another one, and all you have to do then is plug it all in since all the wiring is already there now.

I found my Cummins, the guy is driving his 92 dodge to my shop, we are going to pull the engine and Dana 70 rear end and he'll trailer it back home! I'm so excited I'm like a gitty little school girl right now. No word on the 6.0l yet, I'm taking it in in the morning.

No, cummins is the main plan now, sorry for the change in direction, but I have done tons and tons of thinking and a cummins just better suits my need 10 fold. the 6.0l will now go in my little C10 with a 4.10 posi rear. it will be a lot funner in that truck.

They warrantied my engine, it's going back in the suburban. I wanna do a Cummins but my want to go camping this summer is greater. I am still thinking about doing a turbo. But I'm worried that I will get heat soak and blow this motor while I'm towing up the Canyon. Like if you he turbo was constantly being spooled up from the load of towing. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I would think this problem could be overcome with a variety of tunes for the motor. If you are going to tow and be under a heavy load on pump gas, lower the boost and keep it reliable. If you're going to the track with race gas, pour the fuel and boost to it and have fun. It depends on what engine management system you're planning on using, but there are lots of reliable factory turbocharged gas motors on the market.

I tried cutting my water temp sensor down like yours, however it didn't turn out so well. Do you still have any of the others left? I'd be willing to purchase one if you still have them.

VDO makes a sensor that LOOKS just like a turned down normal sensor. Im giving it a try in my truck and will let you know how it turns out.

Sorry to hear about the engine, but I was curious as to what bushings/grommets did you use on your radiator bracket and how did you modify it to fit with the entropy radiator. I have the same radiator and problem it looks like you had with trying to make it fit. The width of the radiator is twice the size of the original one. Thanks for any help in advance.

hey what transfer case were you running in your truck, and what did you do about a vss. i see that its still passenger side drop t-case so i was assuming it was a 208

Its a np241 from a 91 3/4 ton suburban. they came with a 32 spline 4l80e.

Well the suburban is alive again, drove her home tonight. need to talk to Vince about changing shift points and tuning it some. she runs good. I just don't want a recap from what happened with the last 6.0l I hope it was not in the tune :S

I got on ebay and found some polyurethane grommets for a BBC radiator.
