Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
Picked up a back glass and the SS trim for front Window and back glass, trying to get this stuff to polish up. I used 320, 400, 600, 1200wet, 2000wet, then started to buff the SS out using the white rosin bar and some Wenol polish, its realy sloww going, but its staring to look new again.

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
Thanks!!! Not much to update this weekend, just poilishig the SS trim and some SS bolts, small things. I need to get the exhaust installed, just trying to find a good place locally that will do a real nice job.

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
Spent all day working on the truck, I spent the morning over at Sothwestern Muffler( Thanks Slick67), they did a great job, nice bends, tucked up nice, and Richard asked before he welded anything to see if i was happy. Super nice guy. I went with 3" pipe and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, with turn downs just before the rear end. Then spent the afternoon painting the backside of the hood, the top gets painted tommorow. here are a few pics of the day. (the hood is not cleared yet). Just need a radiator and she should be ready to fire up!!

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
The devils in the details is sooooo true. When you think that you are getting close, something always stalls progress. I planned a 9 month build......4 years later here I am just now enjoying it a little. You will be there really soon, maybe soon enough to have it at the show by the end of the season!

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
Got some work done over the weekend, but just getting around to updating this stale thread!!! Got the front and rear glass installed, looks pretty good. Started to try and solve the driveshaft issues, I picked up a longer DS at a junkyard, and after I got it home, realized it was different sized u-joints than the original 72 shaft. I think a 1310/1330 will fix it, gonna try and get it to the shop to get it shortened and work out the u-joint issue.
I also got the hood installed, but the hinges are so worn around the rivits, that the hood will not close correclty, so I am sending them off to hoodhinge.com and get them rebuilt. Hope to have those back in 7 days or so. Also talked w/Willie, the owner, really nice guy. Thats all for now...

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
That is some really good progress! I hope the DS issue is easy to overcome, sure it will be!! I am a huge fan of the clear glass.......the un-clear glass is hard to see through. Maybe you will be able to make it to the GoodGuys show in Ft.Worth in October!!

I got the front windshield at a local PPG place and the back glass I found a few weeks back when I was doing some local salvage yard shopping and found a 70 c20 truck just sitting there with a near perfect back glass and the SS trim. Quote:
Thanks!

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
A few small updates done today, installed the rear tailight lens on and painted my door panels. Not sure what direction I am going with them, so they will stay black for now. Cleaned up some wires also, trying to hide as many as I can. Got few pics for ya'll...

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"
Thanks, I hope so!! More small updates to share:
Finally got my hood hinges back from being rebuilt, and got the hood on. It closes straight and tight now, Willie did a great job on rebuilding them. Plug wires are cut and installed(not in this pic though). Door panels done. I have my radiator on order from Entropy, I read the reviews on here and nothing seemed to stick out as being bad. Some good stuff was said about them. So getting a little closer to fire this beast up. Also picked up some billet valve covers, just not installed yet.
