Lookin' GREEAT!!----for an ol' Geezer. Keep up the good work!
Stick with black on inner fenders, in any other color, it gets cruddy too quick, and hard to clean, IMO.

man, that nice detail work.
good question on the inners. normally i like body color but black would make that beautiful motor stand out... that,s 2 votes for black-

Nice rides, with the help of God and modern medicine you should be good. I know at my age it will be a good day when I wake up in the morning.

Re: geezers unite

#99 checkin' back!!
Got the "Bucket of Bolts" rolled outta the grudge. Frame built, bones split, hung the buggy spring on the front, sold the 9 inch, found a chevy Z28 rear, hung it with another buggy spring and hairpins, bought mounts to install the mill and tranny, bolted her together. Nuthin' to it!!
Got the body sitting where I want it and now eyeballing steering column, brake and gas pedal locations on the floor. Got a slight problem. Not a lotta room there. Size 13 in the way!! Think I'm gonna have to amputate the left leg for enough room. Nah!! JK!! LOL!!!
Long ways to go yet!!

Keep the greasy side down and the shiny side up!!!

Re: geezers unite

Well, I'm officially in the 50 year and older catagory.
Here is a picture of me doing an engine swap on the 68 a couple of months ago. I've sold all my other trucks and most of the parts that I had acquired over the years. Most of the NOS stuff is gone..I'm not as broke up about that as I though I would be. Its funny because I use my 68 to work out of and I recently have been hankerin for a 60-66 truck.

Re: geezers unite

As a 52 year old, I'm a "geezer" and my four kids will certainly confirm this. Lifelong passion for vehicles which I can blame on my dad and grandfather who owned Jeep dealerships growing up. In fact my grandfather was named "Mr. Jeep of North America" as his dealership, in the BC Okanagan, sold more Jeeps than any other N.A. He received a gold jeep encased in a glass block engraved with the above.

Here's some of my driveway holder downers:

Re: geezers unite

Well guys posted a while back in October, but things have changed 51 as I mentioned and time to grow up some, tired of the stand out show boat truck so traded here for a 67 Acadian sleeper, fairly original Canadian car with factory 327 so built it up to 400plus Hp and going to just enjoy cruising here and to out of town car shows with a car I can enjoy, wife and drive a bit and also my twin girls while they still are around. Plus backed of on the project building for others, one main job and finish a few projects when time permits. All about enjoying life and my ride, thats why we build them right.

Lookin for 52 and beyond.

X2^
I'm on the down-hill side of 72. The truck in my avatar is probably my last. It's drivable, so may quit on it anytime. I have to ask my sons to do any critical welding, and double check any other work dealing with safety, so need to think of other stuff. I've done 2 old travel trailers, so may try another vintage aluminum sometime, or go out and do what the RV sticker says I've seen. "Spending the kid's inheritance". (That sure wouldn't take long). The older relatives, as well as friends, are getting fewer, so need to check in with them while we can.

Received a Christmas card from an Army buddy. It's been 48yrs since we pulled our time together overseas. Wow, what a reality check!

The old car/truck hobby has sure been alot of enjoyment for me, and the kids cars gave them a lot of use in hi-school and college that we fixed up together for them during their teen years back in the 80s and 90s.

I think I've fixed up about a dozen drivers in the last 30yrs.
Great pastime!

Doesn't matter if these old Chevys are long beds or short beds, you can work them. I'm going to wear out before my truck,I think.
