Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hi,
I am new to the site. It is starting to get cold so I just picked up a 65 GMC SWB truck as my winter vehicle. When it is not raining or above 40 degrees I am usually on my motorcycle. The truck has a 350 bored .30 over with a TH350 tranny. I gotta say, I am loving this truck. I drive it now but I have some short and long term plans.... It has manual steering and manual drum brakes. I plan to fix that very soon. I found a craigslist deal for a complete power steering setup out of a 72 Chevy. Picking it up tomorrow. I also managed to score a power booster/MC/prop valve which should come in handy when I eventually get new spindles/disks on front. Did I mention that I'm loving this truck? John |

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hello;
My name is Tommy. I started with a 64' SBW (i changed the cab to a 65 BBW) and ended up with a Johnny Cash truck, built with multiple yr models, 64, 65, 67, 72, 76, 88, 89, and 06. I think it is turning out pretty nice. I have changed every bushing washer bolt etc.... on her. My wife name my truck Sally, as I spend so much time with her it has to be a women's name. I have done all the work myself, minus the engine and the actual paint. I have never built any car or truck, but have always wanted too. My uncle had one, 1965 BBW short bed step side when I was a kid, and I loved that truck! So I found this one and 3yrs later here she is; Sally.... STARTED WITH: Where I am today:

My name is Don and i live in North Idaho. I have been on here for a few months. I'm now addicted to these trucks. A co woorker I worked with in Boise about 10 years ago had a 60 something short bed and I loved it. I looked for one for years and the stars aligned when i got this one. I love it and will keep it forever! I would like to find a 4x4 panel someday.

Names Ben. Bought my 61 in 86 rolled it in 88 and now it only comes out once in a while. My son is 13 and we are building him a 70 lwb. He and the wife think it's only a matter of bolting a few things together and it's done. I know you are never really done with your projects, there is always something more you can do to it!

My name is Tom. I am from Oxford, MI but my girlfriend lives in Junction City OR. I have a 64 chevy swb fleet with a 292, 4 spd, that I bought in Creswell. I try to get that way at least once every 6 weeks and always looking for people that share my interest in the old Chevy's. I also have work there near the Portland area. You have a nice truck there. |
