a guy at work gave me a complete tbi 350, minus the computer. the story behind this is that his dad bought the truck from a different guy we work with. this guy said one head cracked, so he replaced it, then he couldn't get it started again. no fuel. anyway, i'm sure i'm going carburated (unless a sweet LSx deal falls into my lap). i'm just going to open up both 350's now and go with the better bottom end. i'll be going with different heads, cam, intake, carb, etc. since i now have 2 extra sets of iron heads, i think i'll play around with some porting and see if i can build some nice power with them. if not, oh well.

i gave the cab corners too much credit early on. they're going to need some tweeking.
i got tired of messing with these crappy compressors, so i finally fixed the problem once and for all.

I haven't put my cab corner on yet if you want to see how it fits on your truck (tri-plus vs your lmc) maybe worth buying Tri-plus if yours are too much trouble to modify.

I had to do the same thing. My 20 year old compressor finally quit building pressure and needed rebuilt. I always wanted more pressure & capacity so I upgraded to a nicer upright one instead. I daisy chained the two tanks together and now have 93 gallons of 150 psi air to work with. You might be able to do the same if your old tank is up to the pressure rating of the new one.

i started taking the front suspension apart, i discovered this fine spring that i'm lucky to have. i'm getting excited with how nice this truck will ride with the air bags, tubular arms, and all new bushings.

that could be the case. i was wondering if someone didn't seat the spring properly when they put it together. i drove the truck for about six months, it drove nice and straight but felt like a brick with every bump or pothole. those shocks had to have been atleast 10-15 yrs old.

calipers came in today. i never seen anything so shiny, it's going to kill me to get brake dust on them. rotors should be here shortly.

thanks alot. i'm going all out on this build (with the exeption of a dropmember). i want to see how low it rides first, then go from there. there's been a few times, my wife said if you're going to do something, do it right the first time. i just make sure i remind her of that saying on the times she catches my new parts come in before i get them hidden in the garage.

i ordered the calipers through scottshotrods, they're running their special. includes bolts, brake pads, and free shipping. i couldn't pass it up.

that's pretty cool that i inspired you. good luck with your truck. i've been wanting to build one of these trucks for the past 10 yrs. i would see a few here and there in oklahoma city, but nothing finished or real nice. once i discovered this site, i was very surprised with how many badass trucks that are out there.

you could buy ceramic pads to greatly cut brake dust. the build looks solid. have you picked a co;or or colors yet?

they came with some wilwood pads, since i have them i'll try them out. the calipers are powder coated, so i'm sure they're a breeze to clean.
right now, i'm geared towards a flat charcoal black. i did a two tone last summer on my 01 silverado. the top color was this charcoal with some metallic in it. this color looked perfect before i cleared it. i'll see if i can dig up a photo that will do it justice.

i'm going to go ahead and post my cost in parts so far to give some others an idea on what to expect. once i finish this truck, i'll edit the entire build cost at the 1st post. this cost is in parts + shipping only. i spent about $300-$350 in supplies like body filler, cab sealer, primer, sand paper, etc.

parts i've sold.......boss 338's w/tires $1000
the main costly items so far are the ride tech strong arms and accuair system.
total build cost so far.......$4114

i definetely want to check out the salvage you mentioned real soon. i may be tied up this saturday though. have to go to a lavender festival with her family. feel my pain......i'll get my purse ready.

suspect... I have those roters as well and one thing I did that I made them look sooo much better is spray them with a high heat black paint. I just sprayed the whole thing and let the pads pull the paint off. they look sooo good.
