Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
Yeah that is the plan. I have been overwhelming the wife with all the parts coming in the mail. But the front is the small job of the two ends. The back was the biggest project so I wanted to do that first. The front is getting the new spindles and the springs cut, and a No Limit sway bar and that's it for now. I'm not doing the painting that I did on the rear. Someday it will totally be torn down.

Its looking awesome, can't wait to see the front lowered. I can't remember, what are you doing for wheels/tires? Stock wheels look pretty cool

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
I'm pretty sure that for now, I'm going to have the steelies re powder coated white. I like the looks of untouched, unpainted trucks that are dropped. But as time goes on, its hard NOT doing something to the truck!

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
Im still here, I have not done anything to the front yet... I own my own tree service business and every since that last winter storm, we have been swamped. I have not touched it at all. The guys at my local shop are trying to get me change the direction of my build and bag it. suggestions???
So anyways, Im still here and can answer as much as i can about the brake swap.

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
to answer your question about bagging, i personally would like to do it, but have no time or $$. if you have time to cut/weld/c-notch/raise bed floor/etc, and the headaches of the air lines leaking, then go for it! but on mine i just went with spindles and flip. still low and a ton less headaches. anyway, on you disk conversion, i found where u bought the brackets, but what kind of rotors and caliper did u use? i though you would just use the front rotors and calipers but the rotors are all one peice.?.? are they off a newer truck? sorry about all the questions. my build thread is below if you want to see how mine sits.

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
The rotors and calipers i used were off a 1980-1987, i think i told that parts guy 1982 or something to keep it simple. The are the front of a 1980-1987 3/4 ton front truck. Get the "J" code parts, if im correct i think that means a bigger caliper piston...someone correct me if im wrong. Let me know if you need any more info.

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
great truck and one hell of a score. i love the look and the mods you have going.
now on to the most beautifull thing i seen in all your pics ..................... your great dane. not to get off topic but mine was named Mister. he was the coolest dog ever. he lived to be 12 ( old for a great dane). its been 6 years since i lost him and have just now started wanting another one. your puppy and my Mister are spitting images of one another. great build you have going on

Re: 1978 GMC Sierra C35 "Project Second Life"
Hey thanks for the truck comments! Harley is our fawn great dane. Just turned 3 on the 21st. You know how they are, he thinks he is a lap dog and he does really well with the kidos. We got him when he was a year old, so he was not a "small" puppy at the time. If I were to get one again it would be a puppy.

Ok, is that all I need? Brackets, rotors, calipers? Do I have to do anything with lines?

A little of topic but they are awesome dogs good with everyone. The size just scares some people but once they know them they will love a dane.
