Re: Green Machine

OK, guys its been a while. So here is the update - found out 409 not only clean rims it dulls them, unless they were already dull. Did more body, almost done will try to finish next weekend. Also going to straight pipe it, just need to figure out what to do with the sensors by my catalytic converter, if you know I would be happy if you shared that information with me. Going pick up a 1993 Saturn Sl1 next weekend so I can fix it and sell it or trade a guy with a 95 Camaro that is looking for a 4-door. Anyways here are some pics.

Re: Green Machine

Well come Saturday I will finally be straightening my frame. But doing it the redneck way. Got a hold of a 4 ton jack and will chain my truck to a tree and then use the same tree as leverage to push against my frame. Should be interesting.

Re: Green Machine

4 ton jack got it in to 27 1/2 inches at the top but I need it to be 27 so I will try soon to get it there and then line them up vertically and I should be good from there. So I will get out there tomorrow and see what can do.

Re: Green Machine

Did work with the frame. I think it looks better. You can see my brothers 1988 Chevy Cheyenne in the background that I am trying to get him to start a build thread for. Anyways here she is after a run to LKQ.

Re: Green Machine

I know you're looking to possibly ditch the computer, but DONT...

Its possible to ditch all the under hood wiring for the most part, but the 4l60e needs the computer to function properly and is worth keeping for the lower first and overdrive, which you will definitely want if you go with 4.10s.

Basically the computer would become a stand alone for the transmission, it just needs an output from the distributor to work.

Re: Green Machine

Oh ok thanks man yeah I had decided not to go with the 4.10 and the 350, but I had thought about moving the computer. With this information I know what I am capable of doing. Thanks.

Re: Green Machine

Well had another idea I'll probably trash,... but I really like this one. If I do it, well, the Green Machine won't be so green anymore.

Re: Green Machine

Well I painted racing stripes on it a couple of weeks ago. But of all things, I have more body work to do. Yes that's right, I wrecked the truck again. In the way to school this morning I came around a turn to fast and since my front tires are bald i hydroplanned and spun around and went into the trees. Killed my bed but at least I'm ok and the truck still drives.
