Re: Sauer's Garage builds
going to try to fire it up tonight. elbows and more elbows. welded up the exhaust. frame has por15 on it for now. the customer wants to drive it and get the bugs out of it , then tear it back down and powder it.

Re: Sauer's Garage builds
does that take away from the strength of the frame on that one side? or is it both sides?

Re: Sauer's Garage builds
we have done it to a couple with no problems. it's 1/4" wall and boxed with 3/16" + nothing goes in the bed of this one.

Re: Sauer's Garage builds
Haven't run any numbers and I won't just for the hell of it, but I am really thinking it should have a plate on the outside, small flange wings would be even better. Nothing outrageous but heavy enough to carry the loads as if it was a hole, then box as it is as well. This would keep almost all users out of trouble up to rated load capacity. Unfortunately people follow what they see sometimes without considering how relative it is. Vic Hickey did this on his early race trucks and broke them, but they were period off road racers. Plus being leaf sprung trucks which have different bending loads, they had heavier frames too...,
