Is there a paint code for the red in the emblems. Mine are to faded to match up and would like to be as close as passible to factory

I don't know personally, but I do have a NOS 1963 c-10 emblem still in the box. I could get as close a color sample as I can match it too if you'd like.

Here is the best I can get with the phone camera. Every chevy hubcap or emblem Ive had has this same kinda reddish-orange matte color. I think its more red than orange, but all of my 63 caps (x8) have this same color as well as several other 63 c-10, c-20, c-30 emblems I currently have. The 60-61 I6 & V8 (light duty and heavy duty) hood ornaments I use to have had the same color also, so I can add some input on those particluar items. Im not sure of other years or emblems though, just what I have or have seen. I have several different brand paint sheets and crash sheets for shops from 60-66 trucks and I cannot find anything on the color. Ive looked at the 10 or so odd factory, engineer, dealer data & shop books that I have also. There are quite a few people out there with more literature and may be able to help.

This is the NOS 1963 c-10 fender emblem I have. It has its original paint and only has box wear, so its as close to factory as I can get you personally. I have to go to the paint shop in a few weeks to get a gallon for my truck, I can try and color match there also.

Found a hubcap without to much fading and it matches the paint on the repop
c10 badges I bought from classic parts and looks close to your photos. I tried mathing it with bright red I had in the garage and it is not red at least not the samples I have. I found some chrysler orange engine paint at autozone that might work. I always thought they were red. If you can confirm that they are orange that would help.

I think the color you show on your test piece looks right with 1 coat. Looks like where it got a 2nd coat it darkened up some. Im not sure if orange or red, but it looks more red than orange to me. Aerotruck63 has a vast source of factory literature also...maybe he can help.

I sent him a PM to see if he can lend any help on it.

Im trying to get an answer from Dupont to see if they can help any on this. Aerotruck thinks that it may be cardinal red. I will let you know more when I do.

I ended up using "chevy orange-red" off the shelf at autozone, I got a good sample of original paint and its a good match. That probably why my faded sampes turned orange. Here is a hubcap I painted next to a repro badge which also is a close color match to original.

Here is a 66 c20 custom camper emblem. If from what Ive read is correct, it was also used in 67 & 68. There are also two different colors depending on engine, maybe a 66 owner can provide the pic of the other emblem. (UNVERIFIED as too if there was a different color in 66)
