Re: The wifes truck
The rear is 295/45/zr18 the front is 265/50/zr18 nitto55...Flying slowly today was hoping to have it completely finished by tom night but dont believe thats going to happen at this point...still need to hook lighting up..can do that tonight..get filler neck installed through the wheel well(has been an all-day affair today) get exaust installed, get spray in bedliner and somewhere in there get the windows tinted..not to mention the unseens that are always present!!...

Re: The wifes truck
Great build in a short period of time. I really like those seats and can't wait to see the expression on your wifes face. She is really going to appreciate this truck and all your hard work will be well worth it.

Re: The wifes truck
I just want to sy that either you are a great husband or you have a wonderful wife who understands. But I imagine it is both! What you have done so far is amazing, going through all this work for your wife, the struggles you have had.... The truck is turning out amazing. You just have to remember that you are now creating a new chapter in both of your lives. She will never forget what you have done for her and you won't forget the work and learning experiences that you have learned. Family is always the most important thing. Congrats on a great looking truck so far. can not wait to see the final result and her reaction!

Re: The wifes truck
OK...embarrassing as this is...I got the flowmasters put on at the muffler shop...all excited I got in to drive the truck back to my shop on Friday to get it cleaned up for the surprise and found some minor yet quite irritating issues...when i replaced the column and steering shaft i didnt have the steering gears in center so I could barely turn left(not good) turned great to the right...noticed that the truck wasnt quite level..discovered my front coil spring wasnt centered properly....notice that I hadnt put in the wiper motor...my linkage was real sloppy and timing hadnt been set and the steering wheel was no where close to being aligned...so I know that is a lot of careless mistakes...however I did disclose that I make no claim to be a great mechanic...so I postponed the reveal to saturday...Saturday get almost everything done I try to tighten the bracket attached to the 700 to tighten my linkage and break the bracket..absolutely pissed because its about 4 pm with no shops open to get a new one I accept defeat again on saturday and decide to go ahead and check all my fluids and discover the new dipstick was too long and the crank decided it was hungry...fml... so drop the oilpan and luckily get a luck stroke with a magnetic rod and find the broken piece get that fixed go home drink a 12 pack and wait till today to find my broken bracket...so hopefully I can give the majority of you a good laugh on that and get it wrapped up today and god willing get another babysitter set up for tonight and give it to her then...of course I have a business meeting on tuesday so I have to be at airport by 6am tomorrow so If I dont get it completed today it will be wed before another chance and we leave for London on Friday...soooo im fairly stressed about getting it RIGHT today so she can have a couple days with it.

Re: The wifes truck
There are always the little things you have to correct that you find after the initial drive. Especially after doing a complete resto. I call them tinker trucks when they are done, cause you will always be tinkering on them after you get it done. Looking forward to many of pictures. Good luck hitting your deadline.

Re: The wifes truck
Joe speaks the wisdom. Get the main stuff tight and right, sort the rest later. Relax, think slow, it'll be all good. My motto is always, "We ain't gotta drive it to work tomorrow!" Hope she loves it!

Re: The wifes truck
Yea it was a great evening...she ended up crying tears of joy and went over every inch of her truck a little saving grace is I left several items that she can do herself...yes she is that kind of woman..she loves to work on her truck so she can put most of the trim on and finish the carpet on the back of the cab and kickpanels...truck sounds great but left a lot to be desired on the stock 350 motor.....sooo I went ahead and got the go ahead to order a few things for the motor..going to order some Dart pro 1 aluminum heads, a crowler hydraulic roller cam 294d and .540 lift pro magnums hydraulic roller lifters and a aluminum high single plane intake manifold from Dart and of course push rods and aluminum roller rocker arms..I think that should get us close to 400hp and 400 torque which is more than enough probably change the carb to a quadrajet

Re: The wifes truck
Yes when we finally got back in last night....about 4 hours of driving and parking and driving more I got her to get on and read through it...she was definately in shock I completely caught her off guard...she cried again when reading through it I think it was a lot of residual emotions...those pictures and video really dont do the emotional impact justice it was astonishing to say the least.
