Hey Mike, thanks for all the incredible renderings. Yeah, there have been some updates just haven't been putting them on the forum. You know the saying "measure twice cut once", when it comes to building these kind of trucks especially something worthy of SEMA its "measure hundred times and cut once". Alot of plotting and planning, aside from that I have been working on crewcab inventory.

I have decided that I like the longhorn frame platform the best for a crewcab build especially when putting a twelve valve cummins in it. I also have stretched a 3/4 ton 4wd shortbed frame and aside from that been working on organizing/cleaning my shop.

I also have a promising new trainee that I have been training to work with me in my shop. This kid is 16 and is showing great potential. Definitely knows how to think outside the box. And get this he has great work ethics, a rare find these days. His goal is to work in the automotive restoration industry, how cool is that.

ps.. Mike, what's a Duramax? (lol)

I'm glad to hear you found a good kid. I know what you mean about it being rear finding someone nowadays with a great work ethic, they can't get in on time, have to leave early or both.

I like diesels and work on them daily. I know it would be staying brand specific by going with a Duramax, but a lot more work (wiring, space) ect).

12 valves are easy and happen to be my engine of choice!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen

This is what I have been working on the last few months.

Definitely an exciting new truck line that we are building at Rtech Fabrications. Just imagine this truck as a crew cab with a 5.9 cummins in it. That is the next truck that we will be building. The crew cab version of this is going to have an all updated interior out of an 08' suburban, possibly dash modifications also to keep the character of the old and the kindness of the new.

Randall, you need to build a C50 or 60 on a semi chassis. That would be sweet!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen

After playing a mean game of eenie-meenie-miney-moe. This is the cab that won . This is going to be the new c40 crew cab and I'm almost sure its going to have extended doors on the back. I'm able to extend my crew cab rear doors an additio...nal 7.1/2" it's just more work. I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and build it on a c40 frame due to the fact that it's going to be a one ton 4x4 with a 5.9 Cummins. I think the C 40 frame will be a good platform because I won't have to do a bunch of frame modifications to make the cab work, instead all I have to do is convert it to four wheel drive. The C40 frame is one step up from a one ton so it won't be to heavy duty.See more

Yeah, I will leave that one up to you, as for me I'm going to keep it under 2 1/2 tons. I just posted what my next build is going to be after Drill Sergeant.

Randall, that sure looks like some nice sheet metal!!! If I hit the lotto, I'll be calling you for a couple cabs. Right now diapers and kid stuff seem to be winning the battle.
