The scoop is from Unlimited fiberglass products. I think its 6 " highr at the highest point and like 6 foot long. They did a good job with it.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

When I went to the shop Friday and the truck was leveled out on jack stands for the chop. Darren Etchler has been brought in to do some sheetmetal work. I may stop by tommorow to take some pics after work. The roof will have the drip rails removed and about a 3/4 section in the rear with a raked angle in the roof. Flush mount glass channels will be added when the roof is done. Hopefully tommorow I have some pics.

Its a full tube chassis, fiber glass one piece front and rear fenders. Has an BBC turbo 400 combo, 9" with aluminum center. It was finished in 1990 - 91 time frame. Wow that's dating me way back. Fun truck.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

ok Finally got photos converted from the text messages. The photoshop program in the computer was not working either. So after a weekend of computer work I can load the pics. Now for the truck Darren Etchler has been brought in to do some metal work. This guy does alot of high end show cars now. He used to build race cars only but has broadened his skills some into metal forming. Anyway the roof came off on Monday and was back being fitted a couple days later.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

And a few more pics from the chop that I took yesterday. Hopefully the top above the windshield is welded and shaped this week, and the bracing removed inside so the door can be cut and fit. Any body know who has the best 1 piece side glass kit???? I only know of Brothers , just wanted some opinions... Thanks

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Ok now for some fit and weld pics. Darren is one of the best in the business and metal fab work. He has been involved in some Foose builds as well as Boyd stuff. He really can make sheet metal do what he wants lol. The real panel was cut out and removed for welding the top back on. The sun visor mount holes where removed because of the roll bar that will be added. Look at the last set of posted pics compared to the fit pics in this post. The drip rails will be next as well as window channel fitting.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Mocking up the windshield and filling the speaker holes in the cab. Next step is fabricating the channel for the windshield. Also will be testing something a little differant on the door windows. Im not sure if its been done before and this will take some work. Going to try making the door without an upper glass channel on the door. Anyone with any info on the being done before please let me know. I have 2 test doors just want to try sonething differant.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Ok with the glass mocked up for the windshield Darren has begun the channel fabrication. Without the factory rubber seal installed it leaves the inside unfinished looking ,so there has to be sheetmetal added to finish the inside of the cab around the windows. This channel seat is 1 piece that bends to the inside to clean the A pillar ,as well as set the height of the glass. When finished an exterior piece will be made to fit from the A pillar to the glass to tighten the outside gap and tie into the seat piece that you see here. The roof will be extended slightly to cover the channel on the top, and the cowl will be extended on the bottom side to cover the bottom channel. Anyway in these pics you will see the begining of the channel fabrication, and the other speaker hole filled. I am still interested in 1piece window ideas that have been tried. I am going to have side windows made , I just want to know who has the best electric kit out there?? Also have the step side bed for sale set up for bigger tires if anyone knows someone interested.

Yeh that particular engine that the billet pan was for turned out real good. Its 903 cubic inches . We tested on 315 drag radials to get the car ironed out. He runs a 275 drag radial car so he could run the 315 at some races and get some runs. Switched to 10.5s and won Vegas. Now as a Pro Mod it went a 3.89 first race. In 3 months since the car was finished its been in 3 classes, and there was alot to learn.

Updates on windshield channel fab and roof corner reshape. It is a whole lot of work to do this. Now the external windshield channel will start next week.

Good g-d, 903ci. Do you have any pics of that particular car? Sounds like you've been busy.

Truck is coming along nicely. Windshield work is tedious. Lookin good.

x275 car and 2014 Pro Mod. 275 car was a 588 ci fuel injected nitrous motor. Pro Mod is 903ci fuel injected nitrous combination.

Re: The Mother Trucker.. FX Race Cars, Porterbuilt, Dyess Designs 68 coil over build

Ok the windshield channels are pretty much done and the roof windshield over hang is done. The overhang will be shortened and radiused to tie into the A-pillars at the top. The drip rail has been removed on the driver side and waiting for a plan to clean that up some. My idea is a aero type lip tieing in to the A-pillar. Have to see what I come with here. So far this is a little over 60 hours of sheetmetal work.
