Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
So House is almost done and the Blazer has moved under it's own power. Now I'm looking for some headlight bezels so I can rework the radiator support to work with the 67-68 grill.

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
Dave-looks like maybe Friday. I will call first. Thanks!
So while checking for rear end travel I have run into an issue. The rear sway bar is hitting the full length exhaust. I may have to run it out the side before the rear wheel. This is not what I wanted to do but I aint gots no daggum money!

So Will a 67 GMC hood fit the 67 Chevy front clip?

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
Thanks for the reply. I may have found one. Says no rust etc but GMC not Chevy. Last one I drove a long way to find the "no Rust" was actually holes you could see right through the top of the hood. So we will see. I think this time I will ask for lots of pics before making the journey.
So just take off the GMC letters and that should be it?

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
It was, but I am very tired of the constant carb issues. It sits for weeks and when I want to drive it there is always something keeping me from doing it.
So I am currently working on the factory harness getting it ready to put the 6.0L on the test stand.

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
What carb does it have? Edelbrock? I think my Holley does a good job and does not give me troubles, I will eventually go with a bolt on injection system. This way I get injection-and a big small block.
I have been out of it for a while as I have had to fix My Air conditioning- My wife's A/C and the house A/C. Now I know a bunch about A/C! My wife's car and mine can get below zero! My house can easily get below 70. I need to reseal all my ducting and it will get even better. I am going to take all the old parts from my wife's Toyota and make it fit in my heater box for the Blazer-Hook it up to the new SD508 and we should be frozen out pretty quick. Old Yeller has the GM R4 and seems to be in good condition so I will give it a shot with the parrallel condenser after a good flushing of the stock parts and calibration of the POA. Just have to find out how much oil goes in the system. Should be about the same as a 92 Caprice or P/U.

=== That may have been a quicker solution for sure. I have heard a few failures on the road and guys being stranded because no one has parts for the bolt on versions. It's a Quick Fuel carb (Holley style) A lot of the issues I have I think are due to the Thumper cam and the fact that I have Vortec heads and the plugs need to be short ones in order to miss the headers and not burn the wires. The short plugs are not available with a wide range of heat ranges and I think it runs to cold. But if I change the cam to possibly fix the loading up issues while idling with the ac on as you know you have to pull the pan to get the timing cover off so I might as well pull the engine and if I pull it I am going LS. I got the 6.0 really cheap which help with my motivation. Since your now an AC expert maybe you can tell me why my Blazer with Vintage AC, the evaporator box sweats so much. It cools great and during my 4414 mile Power Tour trip this year it did great. I put insulation all around it and it helped alot but it still gets wet and soaks the insulation. This does not seem to happen in the C10 with the same unit. I am thinking that its the larger amount of humid air to cool.

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
Not an expert yet and maybe never. This is a highly respectable line of work to be in. I may take some classes to get better and get a license.
As for the sweat- It's sweating so you don't have to! HAHA! No really though, Does the unit have a good drain set up? Make sure it's dripping well at idle. And yes the humidity and amount of humidity will sweat the evap. This is how it removes condensation from your air. Cab leaks and having the outside air on can contribute to excessive condensation. I am not an expert on Vintage Air Systems but if I am right they do not have an outside air option. Having two of the same units gives you a great advantage. Make sure both have the same readings on your gauges and basically make them the same. This is how I fixed my wife's A/C. I also had some great help from some fellas on here that provided Schematics for the electrical on the vehicle. Without that I could not have fixed it correctly. These are bot running the SD508 right? Oh and be sure your insulation is not touching the evap. It needs good flow to Evaporate the condensation. Probably doesn't need any if it did not come with it. It's technically a dehumidifier as well as a heat remover=by-product is the cool air. I think. I cannot even see my evaporators in the cars so they may be sweating crazy. I know my house unit sweats so much that it NOW has a steady stream of condensation from the drain. My windows are old and keep going thru the doors all day though.

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
So haven't done much lately but work. I am ready to get back on this build though. I need a hood bad. I have found a few on here but never panned out. I may have to bite the bullet and get aftermarket. Checking reviews on most and AMD seems to get good reviews. Any thoughts. Just a 67 stock hood is hard to find here in Florida. I think Colgad said he got his at the Turkey Run. It is a cowl hood. Cowl hoods seem to get better reviews than the stock style. These are just laying around everywhere in California where I am from but jeeze Louise!

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
So I am ready to get this thing going already. I may have a hood coming from a member on here so I am pumped to get this in my garage and do it some real justice. My child support should be paid off in a couple months. Woohoo! Is it ever really paid off? Well the police cannot take my license or threaten me in any way anymore. It's a good feeling. So my original baby will get some much needed attention. A new shop will be built in the back yard. Nothing real big just a place to keep my tools and all the junk in the garage. Then The Blazer will take it's rightful place in the garage next to the 58. Not sure what to do with the double wall extra top. Was thinking of cutting the front off for a half cab and using the back part for a shell on the 4x4. Thoughts?

Re: 72 2wd project "No Daggum Money"
That's what I would do with a extra top. I have wanted a half cab for a long time. Not sure if it would be easier or harder with a double wall or single.
Congrat's on the garage, they are never big enough so make sure you build it so you can add on later. Making it tall enough for a lift later on is not that much more than standard height. I just love spending your money!
